Not playing a backup C against Xavier Tillman and JJJ, seems kind of dumb?

At least give Gabriel a shot when they had all the energy.

I don't know Ham is a bit handcuffed but it's frustrating that the lack of a backup big is such a problem for this team

We don't have a lack of a backup big. We have a coach unwilling to play them. Do they suck too bad to play? Maybe, maybe not, but we won't know until we do. 3-5 min/game is not too much to ask to try it out. Bamba or Thompson. It's necessary to at least try.

Ham should have played Gabriel since we were low energy today. It will take him awhile to reach Frank's level but it is hard to put this one on him. AD and Dlo were terrible. With two of your starters not showing up it is hard to game plan. Dlo may have to go to the bench and AD is a bonus if he shows up. How can you game plan with your supposed main guy mentally there about half the time? I believe we still take the series but we are making it harder than it needs to be. If AD shows up we win by ten.

Would be nice if Ham got a fine criticizing the refs. Those foul calls that Bane got vs what the Grizz got away with was something else.

Again can't blame the refs for this but it was a definitely a factor which stopped runs in the 4th quarter. Refs must hear the Lakers and Reaves talk and they have to respond

With this reasoning we should stop letting you post. You go on and on with illogical posts.

FOH..I guess Rob was being illogical when he fired him? Lol..and he's still unemployed..I guess message board fans are the only ones that know what's really going on.

Tough one for AD. D'Angelo is going to have to get it together here soon. It will be a damn shame to have a 30 million dollar PG riding the pine.

Yes, the reason is that Westbrook sucked and destroyed the team, and Vogel was the fall guy.

Oh, Rob was being completely logical...the logic being that he sure wasn't gonna fire himself.

It's been one year. He'll get employed again. When he does will you admit you were wrong?

Wrong about what? That Frank Vogel sucked? His teams sucked for 7 out of his last 8 seasons as HC. What else is there to say? He deserves all the credit for riding the wave in the bubble. Great...obviously that wasn't enough to save his job. We moved on..good luck to him...I don't miss him as a HC one bit. SMH..folks seem to forget that his rotations were bad , he played weird lineups for no reason, didn't have a single clue on offense, and didn't command much respect in the locker room. Yeah he could coach a defense some...he'd make a great assistant.

Ham still sucks with his rotations.

His lack of head coaching experience is gonna start showing when we need in game adjustments. I wasn't a fan of his Lebron at center line up in game 1 but it worked. He's gotta find a way to play one of Bamba, TT and Gabriel when we're getting beat up by JJJ and Tillman

i think the issue is he knows gabriel is too small, and bamba and TT have played zero and functionally zero minutes with the team. if we find ourselves down again in game 3, though, i think he'll have to try one of them.

Yeah I can't really get down on Ham TBH. He went to Lebron post-ups which worked to get them back in the game.

Feels like he's really handcuffed with the lack of a quality backup C and Vanderbilts' offensive problems.
Vanderbilt really causes the offense a ton of problems when he's in there.

Frankly you may have to dump your rotations and just play AD whenever JJJ is in and only Vanderbilt if Morant is playing.

I’d like to see TT, Gabriel and maybe even Bamba get some minutes out there. TT is a seasoned enough vet to jump in there and has lots of experience with Lebron. Put them in together. Kind of a no brainer when Tillman is having basically a career high against smaller guys like Vando, Rui and Lebron. We need a strong big guy to body him. Same for JJJ. That’s what TT does. At least give him a shot.

LeBron at C only works when our entire team is hitting their jumpers. Stupid recipe for success.

What’s the point of having them? I’ll take a veteran C with a big body over LeBron 99% of the time

As much as AD drives me crazy, I honestly think Ham is running him in the ground at the 5 without some help. This doesn’t bode well even if we survive this series. In our 2020 title run we had Dwight, Javale and Markieff to help do the dirty work in the paint. If we had those 3 last night in Memphis we run them off the court.

not having a useful center aside from AD killed us all year. bryant did ok as an offense-only backup, but if you're doing that, just play lebron at center, right?

i was glad when we moved for bamba, but he got hurt, so we never really got to look at it.

i'm with those who say play thompson, though. he's a vet with lots of playoff experience. he'll at least make his presence felt for a few minutes out there.
