Actually, Boston's record the year before they drafted Bird was 29-53, Bird took them to 61-21 in his rookie season. You have to give him credit for doing that.

His Dallas years are going like Cleveland's first stint with Lebron: too good too fast. The generational player sets a floor where you can't tank to get any top 5 picks and the FO starts doing stupid stuff to try to make up for it.

Nah man .... dude was seriously "overrated". Who else joined the top 8 player rotation that year?

    :Magicwink:

Sarcastic of course for a certain someone here, though a good dude for sure  , but an honest question as well. That is one hell of a turn around!!

Who said Bird wasn't any good? Certainly not me. I did say that he is overrated, which he is, and vastly overrated as a 3 pt shooter. He made 1 three a game.

he'd better start going on that lebron regimen if he wants any shot at playing into his 30s. he's only 24 and has put on considerable weight since he first came into the league

    No. More. 3's.

28, 12 & 3 on 52% shooting, and yet a team worst -17. It's very easy to figure out why. It's called 1-8 from 3, poor defensive effort, and playing him/Rui/Vando at C without AD, Bamba, or Thompson.

Somebody needs to get him and Ham the memo.

He's just too slow to drive in the half court now.

This is worrisome he's not driving at all since coming back from injuries. Last game they had other guys but this game they needed him to take over in the half court.

I thought outside of some dumb 3s he was decent both on offense and defense and the plus minus was due to bad lineup but Lebron even this year before the injury would drive

He puts up solid numbers, but his +/- has been pretty bad. Most of the time sadly I feel like things seem to click more when he is off the court.

Could also be he rolls with the Beasley, Brown, and Schroder (hit or miss) crew at the start of quarters while the other starters tend to stick together more.

we’ll see how things look moving forward.

Bron can’t get baited. He’s not that guy anymore especially coming off his foot injury. The team will need a more balanced attack. AD, Dlo, and Reaves need to be way better than they were this evening.

This is the problem with Reaves starting: you're stuck with all the marginal players together. Beasley needs to do a lot more in the second unit (yeah he's technically going against second stringers as well but still) where with the the starters he can just spot up. Throw in the lack of the center and the lineup is trash

    RIP Memphis.

    Series is over now.

Lakers by 15+ next game and LeBron will drop at least 35.

He doesn’t need to score a lot- he’s most effective when getting others involved.
Seems like he needs to tell AD to wake up and realize they are in the Playoffs now.
