AD is the engine that makes the Lakers go, but he has 4 guys that can run the pick n roll with him in D Lo Lebron Reaves and Dennis the menace

This man is one of the best defensive guys ever. He absolutely controls the paint that changes completely how the other team plays.
Then when he's on a good mental space, he gets a lot of rebounds in the offensive glass and his a force down low. That's a deadly combination and extremely rare.
This matchup with JJJ and Tillman suits him too, Adams could tire him out in a long series

We have to find ways to build around him and cover his health issues. Because when he's on, he's ON!

    Great game.
He could have used even more attempts via PnR. I wonder why we don’t run this more often since good things happen nearly every time we do.

Never got it. I think Lebron-AD PnR is our bread and butter. I thought for a while that we were saving it for the big games but it still gets forgotten often
I think with Reaves getting more the ball we might have it more

i think the p&r is good but should be used strategically. i get annoyed we don't screen for him off the ball to create low post mismatches and floater/hook opportunities for him. whatever, i'll take the win today.

He set the tone defensively right from the start and that carried us the whole game. I do wish he would post up some when we need a basket but its okay

He's so obviously the best defensive player that it's ridiculous he's not even mentioned as DPOY. Yeah he missed game but no one else is like him on defense: Rim protects like Hakeem and maybe only Giannis can switch on to small dudes.

It's is absolute absurd that Duncan and him the two best defensive players of their generation (Dwight in between) will maybe never have DPOY

When Lebron is engaged Jesus felt like Memphis had to do something great to score. Credit to them that they're really good but Lakers again just locked a good to great offense into closet for another 4 th quarter

The lack of off ball screening has been irritating and perplexing.

AD was monstrous on D today. 7 blocks and three steals was unreal. So dominant.

Hell of a stat Trudell pulled out on the LFR pod:

Grizz shot 31% on paint shots with AD as the nearest defender

    68% vs everyone else

That's DPOY/championship level defense from him.

i knew morant was going to try to punch one on AD from the get go. that's his thing. i didn't think he'd be successful, though. vando erased that shot, too.

yeah, someone was saying on twitter that it's insane that jjj played like, 5 more games than AD so he gets to be dpoy and on the all nba team, etc. while AD is mr. glass.

Yep that’s how he’s been playing, and maybe going forward, if he wants a long career in the NBA, he’s going to have to play a bit more conservatively on when he’s going to just try to leap through people.

He's the DPOY man...not even close.

I hope he uses JJJ getting DPOY so unanimously as motivation...looks like he already did that in Game 1. I mean to not even be on the BALLOT is insane man...JJJ played only SEVEN more games than AD!
