According to Haynes , the medical staff let AD choose which b2b to play between the Rockets and Clippers Here's the thing : Is it most likely to win at Houston or against the Clippers , a team we never beat AND which will have 3 full days of rest before playing us ? Most likely a scheduled loss even without PG13 playing . Another example of this organization , from to top to bottom , being overconfident and lacking seriousness
Let’s be real, if AD chose the Houston game and we win, everyone here would be saying that we would have beaten the Rockets anyway and AD was soft/scared for picking that game instead of the Clippers. I am 100% certain that’s how this would have played out.
Yep, Clippers was a bigger game at a more meaningful period of the season against a team ahead of us in the standings. AD made the right call.
I don't think he is a slacker either. I like AD. I think there is something about his situation here he doesn't like and it wears on him. You make good points, it could all be pain related. That can suck the joy out of anything.
Houston went from an easy likely win with AD to an extremely tough game where everyone thought they were going to lose because, on top of not playing AD, they didn't sign a C on a ten day. Take the low hanging fruit dammit
so the FO shouldn't have given him the choice. the player is going to take the bigger challenge, imo. AD wanted the clippers game.
With this team, unless AD is in full beast mode, I never consider any of their games as potential “easy wins.”
when you're missing a top 10 player in the nba from your roster, there aren't easy wins. i think people have lost sight of the fact that we're playing without lebron. we're probably exceeding reasonable expectations. if we go .500 or better to close the season, playing the last 20 games without lebron, that's pretty impressive to me. bodes well for next year, indicating that we might be able to win half our games while each star sits his obligatory 20 games.
Good point and I completely agree. On the other hand, all of us just want to see this team overcome the odds, and surprise everyone. I’m really happy that the roster had so much positive turnover at the deadline, but these players all need time to acclimate themselves with one another. Having the best facilitator on the team not on the floor obviously makes this even more difficult.
Also, Rob completely redeemed himself from the unbalanced roster that was assembled in the summer. I hope the entire FO realizes that bringing back the majority of this team next season is the best path forward.
Who switched his water bottle midway through the 3rd? Took him 2 1/2 Qs for him to realize he can impose his will on that team. They have no one who can stop him. Glad he figured it out and put up 20 in the second half.
reaves cards on other hand wight Shaka:.....i have 2 premium type AR RC bought below 100, 1 just closed at 700+...but that value is misleading, its not just ad, most high end sports card are decreasing in value with exceptions of the very best, bron, luka, steph
I really don’t understand this dude. He was sleep walking through the game up until half way through the third. I’m glad he woke up and joined the game. Every single thing Mark Jackson was saying about AD leading up to mid way through the third mimics what many of us have been saying here. I guess he’s just a hater as well?
yeah, i commented on it in the game thread. mark jackson's still an idiot after all this time. who'd have guessed. breen called him on it during the game after one of the times he complained that AD wasn't just posting everyone up, breen's like: look at where the defense is, how do you expect this to happen, exactly? what happened is phx stopped doubling on every possession (and/or the lakers finally moved him around a bit, but really, it was mostly the former), and AD demolished the single coverage while lakers fans whined. then phx went back to doubling and the game was easier for non-AD players. another thing that happened, imo, is that booker started getting some ticky tack fouls, so AD took the cue that fouls were going to be called tonight. some nights, those forays into the paint are missed shots and turnovers because of uncalled fouls. anyway, another s***ty game from our star, who only led the team in scoring, did so efficiently, and anchored the defense as always. bum.
