wow. What a bummer. The Lakers FO are still stuck in the past. They haven't learned a thing in regards to pitching a player.
LMA is at a point in his career where he wants to compete. He wants to know how you can compete in a very difficult Western Conference. Not how you can make money outside of basketball. If the Lakers didn't show that, then no wonder he wasn't impressed with us.
Anything stopping the Lakers FO from setting up another meeting and bringing the new kids? Maybe at our facility? Let him see the glory for himself. Let the kids show how excited they are. Get a scrimmage going and show the sales pitch, rather than talking about it. Meetings in the board (or is that bored?) room are not always the best.
Again, with these nuggets I'm not getting the sense that Kobe ran LMA off. This does not seem to be similar at all to the Dwight situation, this imo looks like a FO failure.
It'd be up to Aldridge's agent to set up a second meeting. I find it doubtful he bites considering how well the reports of PHO and SA went.
Such a bummer to read how the meeting with LMA wasn't as good as the FO thought. There are a ton of Laker haters in the media so it's not over til it's over but man if the pitch bombed again, FO changes/strategy need to be addressed.
