Yep 20 years since a Laker has done it and it was Kobe, lol. And almost 25 years before that and it was killer shooter Glen Rice. Point being we need a guy like this moving forward. He’s just so potentially dangerous to get hot that he has value in a lineup that includes Lebron and AD who can command doubles. Also since Vando isn’t a threat we need an offensive guy out there who has to be respected defensively.
Beastley ties Glenn Rice with 7 3s in a half; Kobe had 8 once. And we should take note: that was Malik's 10th game with us.
not really. you never get westbrick because no one will dare leave him open and pack the paint. you don't even get early season beverley for the same reason.
That TO on the fastbreak was brutal: totally looked like the Lakers were going to put the Mavs into the hole going into the 4th and boom went the other way. If I'm being honest don't like his game - no 3 pt shot he bad at everything else
I likened him to a poor man’s KCP with his ability to be hot and cold shooting. But I stand corrected. At least KCP could defend when his shot wasn’t falling. My bad KCP.
This team is the title favorite with KCP. I've said that consistently since the trade. Need a lot better defender then what we have right now
I'm losing interest in retaining Beasley. He will win us a few games over a season when he goes 7-10 from three, but there are way too many games where he just can't hit.
Can’t lose him for nothing, that would be foolish. I’m open to a trade that upgrades the position but we need to pick up his team option for next year.
without a doubt. i'd also like to see him play with our #1 offensive option and one of the best passers in nba history, too. it could, just maybe, make a difference? my greatest fear is his cold shooting will help ownership justify cheaping out. you won't replace him with exceptions. you pay more than his salary for anyone who can shoot like he does on average.
ive advocated using his expiring for a trade, 16M can get us something better, Rob needs to start realizing not to let people go for nothing....i.e Randle
i'm fine with it, but we better a get a movement shooter out of the deal. again, we were trying to play matt ryan in nba games early in the season. if we drop or move beasley after everyone was asking for it, and then everyone complains about shooting again...
"movement shooter" just means that he can can catch and shoot off pin downs and curls and on the spring in transition. and beasley can definitely do all that. sucks that he's been off since the trade, but his career numbers are what they are, and you pay a huge premium for people who can do that because there aren't a lot of them. unfortunately, most of those guys can't defend or do much of anything else. but teams STILL pay big bucks for them.
Uggh he's like the only Laker I don't like since the trade - he's a big negative on defense, rebounding, passing, well anything unless it's 1 out of every 5 games where he gets hot from 3. Orlando even didn't close out on him at time and he bricked.
n teams regret it soon after, mia with Duncan, Was with Bertans n Nets with Harris....as for Beasley being "able" to do those things doesn't mean anything if they dont go in on a consistent basis
