Good sixth or seventh man. We need more consistency in the starting line up.

He's in the league because of his shooting, so he's going to keep shooting. His career averages suggest, that he will break out of this little shooting slump eventually. If not we can give Lonnie more playing time.

I still like Beasley in the starting lineup.

He hasn’t really seen too many open shots. A lot of his misses are on attempts that are highly contested because even when he struggles the defense is draped all over him trying to run him off the three point line. That gravity is in itself a positive for our offense.

I will say, our coaching staff needs to be more conscious of his streakiness. I think it was in the third quarter against Toronto where he finally splashed a 3… and then got pulled to the bench the very next play. Not sure if he ever came back in. Feel like you gotta at least give him a few more possessions to see if that make gives him the confidence to regain some rhythm

He gets lost on defense a lot too. This was an issue with him in Minnesota. If you're not making shots and missing rotations it becomes an issue. That said, he's young and his career numbers confirm that he's a legit shooter. He just has to knock down more shots, he's getting a fair share of open looks. Hit more shots and the D will improve some too. He's capable of that.

he's not a strong defender. he's not terrible, but not at all strong. like hield. people wanted hield; we kinda got hield, tbh.

Inconsistent shooter for us. However he’s very consistent at being a poor defender. Hopefully he’ll turn it around soon.

use his expiring deal for something better, heat and nets paid large $ to 3pt shooting specialist and has not been afraid to bench or stop playing these shooters all together when they're not performing. Heck even Dall with Bertans making nearly 20m/yr isnt playing him much cause outside of his 3pt shot he does nothing else well

He's going to have positive regression to the mean very soon. He's shown he can hit the 3-ball...I expect him to break out of that slump very soon.

He was hot today. We'll see how he does tomorrow vs the Rockets.

And when I say "hot" I mean "scorching hot".

One of the best 24 minutes I've seen a Laker dominate from 3.

    (Love the DLO celebration too)

After some recent rough ones, he came out in NBA Jam mode tonight

That first half was some performance. 7 threes? When was the last time we had a guy who could shoot like that?

Literally, according to our history: Kobe and Glenn Rice. Kobe had 8 3s in one half, Rice 7, Beastley today: 7.

I'm looking forward to Malik hitting 10 in a game. You see that stroke when he's on? Butter!

Love that most teams are gonna have to try and guard him, which opens up the inside more.

And yea, he has a history of running hot and cold. If he kicks his percentage up to where he was before he arrived here, I'm good. Shot it at 35.9% with Jazz this year; with today's explosion he's already at 35.6% from 3. No reason not to believe he can hit at 40% for a season for us. D-Lo's at 39% this year, our best sharpshooter.

    So far.

Yeah, Kobe hit 8 threes en route in the first half en route to what was then the NBA record 12 threes in a game. It was against the Sonics, I’m realizing now I was only 10 at the time. But that performance is cemented in my memory as this legendary untouchable shooting performance.

And yet when Beasley did 7 today, I felt like he should be capable of performances like this on a regular basis. Maybe that’s greedy, but he has the skill set to have many of these types of games a year.

And just the threat of this type of explosion is why he deserves to stay in the starting lineup, and why we’d be fools to decline his option (unless it was or re-sign him on a longer team-friendly deal)

glad to see him snap out of his funk to basically deliver the win in a crucial game.

we went from basically having nobody teams had to attend to from distance (mayyybe reaves?) to two guys who can't be left under any circumstances in the starting lineup. when scottie barnes went under the screen the other night on dlo and got the dagger, you could see him pointing to himself heading to the timeout. had that been a game a few weeks ago, it would have been a miss or turnover or had we made the shot, there would have been shrugging and disbelief.
