DS has had a good season for us this year. I think not playing him against starters has helped recently, I also think not playing him in 3 small guard lineups has too.

I wouldn’t mind bringing him back for the mMLE because we don’t really have someone of his ilk on the team, a relentless driver, that hits his free throws and that’s also a good point of attack defender.

Dennis has been an absolutely outstanding value, on a minimum contract for us, the best min contract player in the league IMO. He has outperformed his contract by a huge margin.

Spot on. We also have had great production from Troy Brown Jr on the minimum too. Wenyen is a great minimum contract as well. Lonnie isn’t a bad mle signing either. Rob did great putting together the team from the edges in.

He's been really good for us this year and I hope he resigns for $5-8M, but given his age, he also deserves a last big paycheck from someone else.

Still has a tendency to overdribble instead of moving the ball.

he'll have his pick of tax mle offers this year. i imagine we'd get the nod if we offered the same, given our history. if someone goes over that, he's probably gone. but not many folks want to use their full MLE or cap space on a backup pg.

that plus his relationship with ham makes me feel good about being able to bring him back. i'm pretty concerned troy's gone, though.

Would be really dumb to pick Dennis over Troy. Backup guards are easy to find- 23 year old wings who can shoot and defend are impossible to find.

tough to say which player has greater value on the open market right now, imo.

and they might be both be gone. i have some degree of confidence that we can find at least one or two more diamonds in the rough, though.

i'd prefer to keep them, obviously.

Listening to Twitter spaces, they’re pointing out that Dennis in the 10 games LeBron has been out, playing over 30mpg, shooting 38 or 39% from the field, 27% from three, 86% from the ft line, averaging 14 ppg. Very similar numbers to what Russ was doing and a big reason he was moved… Ham is overusing him, and he’s got too much of a green light to create and freestyle.

I think Troy is gone because they have Christie waiting and ready and Troy is just too inconsistent at the same 3 and D role that Christie is being setup for

They're going to re-sign Dlo, Reaves and maybe Rui. Feels they'll try to keep Schroeder only if another team doesn't offer an overpay

Dennis is a very big problem. He is a ball-dominant small SG who can't really play off the ball aside from an occasional corner 3.

I, personally, am very much OK with all his ball-hogging going to Austin and the rest replaced with a better-Malik.

my only issue with schroder is that ham puts too much on him. i don't think we can replace his value with our exceptions, so i'm hoping he'll stay, though.

For the minimum, you aren't going to find better. I like the ying/yang he brings in contrast to DLO's deliberate pacing. He singlehandedly got AD re-engaged in the Mavs game in the second half with back to back set ups. AR certainly isn't a point guard.

His relationship with Ham should give us a discount on him this summer. I'd prefer a better floor general, but there's not one out there this summer in our price range and I'm not willing to spend major assets to address it. If we can convince Rose to come here, I'd make that change but there's not much else out there this summer. I don't want to draft one who's not NBA ready either.

Maybe Russell Westbrook will be available for the mMLE?

I don't think he's a problem. He carries a 1.4 net rating on the year and that includes the majority of time with a badly built roster.

He's +7.2 with Lebron, +6.2 with Davis, +6.3 with Reaves, and +10.2 with Rui so he fits with our core pieces. He's not that good at shooting but he gets to the line a lot and converts great which really helps his efficiency. He also really competes on D and has great chemistry with the rest of the team.

He's overused, but when we had a full roster Ham had him at around 19-22 minutes. The injuries have him playing more but his impact is overall positive out there.

i think he was joking. i actually think it's crazy how hard the clips are committing to the bit there. i only wanted russ back if we couldn't trade him, so that we could utilize his salary going forward. once he was gone...don't let him near this place again.

I think the main issue is how he is used. But this has been beaten to death by me, probably starting with his previous stint. He isn't a PG, so he is an Avery Bradley on D (or thereabouts), but he hogs the ball on offense, reducing the amount of touches AR and DAR are getting, whom Bacon Pimple likes to play together with him (for unclear reasons, if you rule out some sort of sex fetish).

Well the last few games he’s been secondary ball handler to Austin Reaves so looks like Ham is learning.

D’lo is on ball a lot with the starters so it’s okay to get him time off ball where we can use his spot up shooting. The Reaves, Dlo, Schroder lineup has been killing it.
