He's such an impactful player on both sides of the ball. Just gotta load manage him and James next year and we can get a good seed and comepete.

He was really going off till the busted nose: he was great in the 4th again but took him awhile to get to what he was doing to start

    We need a dislike button.

AD has been fantastic recently, hopefully he can stay healthy for the reminder of the season. It seems Bron is not coming back which means we ain't fighting for the main proze anyway, but I would love to see this group led by AD in the play-offs, even without LBJ.

Ludabrow was dominating in the tradition of great Laker big men.

Nothing but Beast Mode AD ever since Lebron went down. Unreal high-level play. 30-22 against MEM with a broken nose? He may be fragile, but he ain't playin soft. Not lately. Felt like it took him 3 mins from the start of the game to get his head together; then he just dominated. The Big Unibrow with yet another tremendous game for us. Let us now bow our heads and give thanks for such Beast Mode play from AD.

Me neither. Honestly I want him to play the rest of his career here. He's that good.

Anyway, 30 and 22 is a pretty darned good night for AD aka Wilt!

I mean I love AD, when he’s on he’s fantastic, but I’d still trade him this off-season if he makes it to the off-season healthy. I sell high before he has his next devastating injury. Never said he wasn’t a fantastic player when healthy, all I personally ever said was he’s never healthy for long enough anymore, and I’m ready to try with someone else. If we don’t trade him this will play out the same every season he’s here, and eventually he’ll go elsewhere and we’ll have gotten nothing for him but cap space and have to start over. Maybe our loyalty to him will attract the next star though, who knows, I’d still rather have a handful of draft picks and a couple nice young players. Love AD, and I’m hoping like hell it doesn’t happen this time, but every time he falls, or someone falls into his leg or knee and he is grabbing at it and grimacing, or he hits his finger and is grimacing, or is hit in the face and is grimacing, I’m bracing for the worst. I know most won’t agree with me and I really don’t care, we’ll see how it plays out, again, hoping like hell I’m wrong because I don’t think he’s going anywhere, and because success with him would feel sweeter.

This post runs hot and cold on AD, but I think it summarizes perfectly my feeling about the guy: astounding talent, but the career-long fragility is nerve-wracking. It's exhausting as a fan. So much drama every time he goes down...which is, like, ten times a game. I love the guy, I really do. Phenomenal talent. But the falling, grimacing, and wondering if this means he's out 20 games again? It's hard on the nerves. That said, I'd hate to see him go. Never have I been so torn one way and the other about a particular Laker. I want him to stay and help us win again, but if we trade him for some big-time talent, I'll get used to it. I wish him the best no matter who he plays for (except against us, of course). That's how much I like the guy. My wish for him is that he never gets injured again. But he will get injured again, and if you're paying attention, you suspect: sooner than later. And of course: if we suspect sooner, we hope later. 'Cuz he will get hurt.

Yeah it's definitely frustrating, but the way I see it, AD raises our ceiling (ie title chance) way past anything that we would get in return for a trade. The real problem was the Westbrook trade, and the lack of depth which significantly lowered our floor. (ie regular season record) If we had the talent we have now to start the season, even with Lebron/AD missing the games that they did, we would likely be a 2nd-4th seed right now. And if that was our floor, not many people would be frustrated with AD missing a few weeks here or there. And Lebron wouldn't have hurt his foot either.

To add to the frustration, even when AD gets back from an injury it takes a while to really be back. He is back to MVP form now and has the ability with the roster we have to take us a long way if not all the way. Every night you play with AD on your team you have a chance to win. I would not trade him but as someone said you do have to have a roster that can survive when he is out. I think Lebron had been nursing that sore foot knowing he was going to miss time. He pushed hard to break the record as soon as he could in case he couldn't come back. It is my opinion he placed the importance of the record over winning this season. I don't think it was Ham or the roster that hurt his foot. He just wasn't going to rest till he had the record. We have seen what happened as soon as he got it.

please don't put his name in the same sentence as Wilt. Wilt ain't falling down with body taps 20x a game. Absurdity.

Great he put together some decent stats, but I'm sorry, when you watch him play, how many times did you cringe in his 36 minutes and see areas for improvement. So. Many.

Well we can't be sure if he prioritized breaking the record over making the playoffs, but we'd have no chance of chasing the 6th seed right now if he didn't keep us afloat during that stretch playing 40 minutes a night. And playing that many minutes would put a lot of stress on a 38 year-old 270lb wing player's foot. That much I know for certain.

    270 lbs????

Might be a stretch. If he was 270, Magic would speak up.

    that was me.

i think we finally have it. to me, russell is the right type of player at pg to help maximize AD when he's healthy and carry some offensive load for lebron when AD's not healthy. we haven't had much of a chance to see it, but on paper, the guys we added were just the right mix--all five of them, really, imo.

it's a shame we had to dig a hole so deep that we're clawing to the play-in, but if we can bring everyone back to start next year, i'll be pretty excited. even banking on lebron/AD missing 1/4 of the season each, i think we can be in the mix for a top-4 seed, then just hope everybody can go in the playoffs. like everybody else does.

the problem the past year and a half is that we couldn't keep the ship afloat when either guy was out.

Made a case for himself last night to be a up in the rafters with a great game. Fitting given he shares the same position(s) as the inductee.

He should if he helps us raise another banner and doesn't spend inordinate time in the medical office.
