AD’s mentality and health is the line that wrapped everything together. More so now when you got rid of the two knots f***ing up the wrapping.

Lebron is injured because you had to over use him. Because AD wasn’t available for almost 30 games this year. And so on and so on….

There is no value for anyone in this league to be great. To be killers. This current climate is all about feeling good and being happy with what you have and not going above and beyond. And if you do, you are some goody to shoes.

i think we should also wait and see what the injury is and how long he's out before freaking out.

let's see if our b squad can surprise okc in the interim.

You’re not saying AD wasn’t busting his a** both sides of the ball against all odds against a top team last night?

i think AD's mind gets affected when he gets injured, and it takes him a while to get back into things. not sure what to do, though. i'm sure he, lebron, and rob will sit down and have a pretty serious chat about it this summer, though. i could see them doing what i want (go for it one more time with this new roster) or totally exploding it and sending each to a team closer to contention.

but remember if we do the latter--we don't own our pick in one of the next two years, so it is NOT in our best interest to bottom out.

Doesn’t matter how long the injury is for, it’s potentially costing us a huge game for playoff implications, it’s a huge game for this season and he can’t go. The guy is supposed to he taking over for LeBron and he can’t play a single back to back. He’s 29, imagine him at 34. His job is to play, he makes the big bucks to play and be relied upon as the star, and he can’t do it. I can’t imagine any other star with this record of missing games during the Jerry Buss era for example, would not be moved on from at this point. It’s not personal, it’s a business, the point of the game is to play.

This does suck and it lets some steam out of the boiler but the players we have play hard. We need to somehow pull this game out and regroup. Our situation might look a whole lot better by Friday.

I am with Weezy here, 100%. I just can't and don't want to deal with this anymore. Yes, many great players get injured. But at this point I am sick and tired of this -- know exactly what's going to happen with AD every season. We get stressed every time he falls down, then he gets injured, takes his time to come back; next, he comes back timid, we all wonder what's wrong with him, but eventually he starts playing like a top player in the league, a real beast, and then, you know it... gets injured again. It's like we get stuck in a weird time loop and I can't stand it anymore. I'd rather watch someone else get injured in a more unpredictable way. That way I get to breathe in some hopium that helps me copium, you know what I mean? With AD, I have no hope left anymore. Totally deflated, like this:

Yes, that’s what I’m saying, it’s time to try something else, we KNOW how this ends, we don’t KNOW how it ends with new players. AD cannot stay healthy, he walks around grabbing his wrist, his knee, his face, basketball for him is like a battlefield the way he comes out limping and bandaged up, but it’s not a battlefield, it’s a game. I thank him for the title, but same with Pau when I thanked him the same, it’s time to move on, before it’s too late and we get NOTHING.

I'm not opposed to trading him, but what's the market? I legitimately have no idea how the league sees him as an asset. I don't want picks or to fully rebuild.

I don't think we'll get close to market value. I don't want picks. If you can get the following, then count me in:
Antetokounmpo, Joker, Luka, Tatum, Ja, Dame, Edwards, Mitchell

I'd take the following if stuff was attached:
Butler, DeRozan, Brown, Siakam, Bam, Beal.

KAT, Embiid, SGA, LaVine are never healthy so I didn't consider them.

    Outside of those, no.

You’d rather have him on the bench not playing than get picks for him? Just let him play out the contract and walk and we get nothing but cap space? think something along the lines of what Brooklyn got for Durant would be great, they got Bridges and he’s killing it there, and they got a bunch of picks. Picks can be possibly re-traded for a different star if one isn’t available directly for AD, and you try to get a young up and coming player as well.

A couple of quality players and picks. You're not getting people like Jokic, Luka, Tatum and Giannis even for a 100% healthy AD.

Yeah, I'm not interested in that. We nearly spent a decade rebuilding. I'm good. I'll even include two firsts with him and swaps if it gets me some of those guys. But I'm not going backwards.

Or if it's for one of my players in the "and stuff" list, then sure let's see what additional picks or players round that out into an interesting package.

I agree, you're not. But those 8 players above are who I'd listen to for AD. I'll take what he can give us instead of selling for pennies on the dollar.

To be clear, I do not want to build around AD nor do I think he can carry this team when Bron retires/leaves; but until then I'd rather duct tape him together unless it's for a big time deal.

This is fair, I can respect it even if I don’t necessarily agree. I don’t think we’ll fully rebuild again, I think if a star can’t be had for AD they’d try to get all the picks and young players they could and try to flip them as soon as possible for that star. If there’s one thing this FO has shown it’s that they don’t want to rebuild, so I think they’d try to send out a type of package we did for AD in the first place again for the next star.

He’s not even injured… This is almost beyond comprehension. Would it be so hard to put on the damn injury report initially that he’s out due to planned rest? Why do we operate this way, zero transparency, so much ambiguity

If it was planned, then why is there testing required to return? Who with the team told TNT that he was going to play in back to backs going forward? Something is fishy.
