J-Rich's off the backboard - between the legs is the craziest dunk of all time. Him and VC were special.
LOL …. these comments about Ty God Lue in the Clipper site Westbrook thread I posted in the Trades/Rumors thread earlier in LD: “It took him most of a season to figure out Moses Brown was not a competent NBA backup center. It took him most of a season to figure out John Wall was a washed up point guard. It took him most of a season to figure out Rajon Rondo was a washed up point guard before that. It took him most of a season to figure out he needed to stop playing a three guard lineup. It took him most of a season - and the intervention of his own general manager - to figure out he had to stop playing guards who couldn't play defense like Kennard and Reggie Jackson. He still hasn't figured out RoCo is a better PF than Morris, and its been more than a season for that. I am not saying Lue is incompetent in general, but he does take too long to figure out some obvious issues with the team. And I think he will take too long to figure out Westbrook is just more of the John Wall mistake which was more of the Rajon Rondo mistake.”
glad other fans do it. i think with all the discussion of their other acquisitions, the one that's most likely to make an impact has been lost in the shuffle. if eric gordon has a full playoffs in the tank (tall order given his age and injury history), he brings things they really haven't had there, especially since reggie re-bottomed out. anyway, yes, ty lue will continue to do less with more and somehow maintain a sterling reputation.
i generally like mahoney, and this is a good piece: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2023/2/22/23608384/2023-stretch-run-parity-strategy
Just wrote a letter to Adam Silver about how effing stupid it is to have, like 6 weeks off for the All-Star Break, the season resumes, we beat the crap out of GSW, and now have to wait until Sunday to see another Laker game. Do I expect to hear back? I do not. They've got better things to do than respond to old-timer NBA weirdo fans like me. Just hadda get it off my chest.
Just watched Dillon Brooks rip Beardie across the face early in the MEM@PHI game. I don't see Beardie actually throwing a punch at a guy, ever. Kinda seems like a wuss, but what do I know? Brooks is a punk-a** b****, though. Hypothetical: if Brooks and Harden got into a vicious punch-out, who would win? A: we all would.
Another DUDE! moment. Dude!! Lebron and AD will both benefit by any time off they can get, why would you find a problem in that?? It is actually the best situation we could find ourselves in.
You're right. Both guys need two more days off after the grueling ASB. Esp the 38 year old. They both looked like they hadn't played real games for months tonight in the GSW win. AD 12/12/1 with 2 blocks in 26 mins. Only took 5 shots. Probably wanted to defer to the new guys, I dunno. Lebron 13/9/8 in 26 mins. 26 mins: I hope they enjoyed it! Now: 2 more days off. Let's hope they step up when we REALLY need 'em. (@MEM on Feb 28th, then @OKC on a btb: can they deliver?) Oh, but other teams are forced to guard these guys, sometimes double-team 'em: yea man!
I have no worries about Lebron and my worries with AD are only in regards to his health. Any time off they can get now, with wins to show for it, is absolutely Fing marvelous!!
The classic “jaw” shot probably wouldn’t even faze Harden with all that padding he has on it from that fugly a** mess on his face.
They've only won 2 of their last 25 How many bottles of wine you think Pop is putting back a night watching this during his (likely) farewell tour?
Spurs beat Brooklyn on the 17th. Meanwhile, tonight the Nets went into Chicago and lost by 44 points. KD: it's good for the NBA to have superstars who abandon their team to chase rings! My proof? Look at all the social media clicks around me and Kyrie leaving! Kee-rist what an a-hole.
Frikkin' weird stat line of the day, for me: Knicks on the road in DC and won by 6 pts. Julius Randle: 46/2/2. (Only two boards, Julius? Explain yourself!)
Man, if this dude’s career didn’t get derailed by injury, he would have more hardware, just ridiculously good. Clipper and Kings are at 149-146 with a minute to go in the game, no defense was played.
Yea man. Dude's sick. In a game in which no defense was played, that D on him was tight AF on both plays and he still drilled both those. Damn!
Glad he's getting love from the crowd, but this is an embarrassment that this was the first time he has played in 2023. I'm biased, he's one of my Memphis guys but he's better than what he's being given. Knicks, give him a buy out by Tuesday and let him get a chance with a playoff team that will play him. Bucks and Mavs could both use him, he'd probably prefer Milwaukee because it's close to Chicago and his family is there. We've already seen Thibs is getting senile. Reddish has been good since going to Portland. 4 games, 26 mpg and 15 ppg
