mavs should have picked him up after they moved DFS, imo. he can play that role. but they picked up justin holiday for some reason.
He makes a ton of sense there. Phoenix is the hottest spot for vet mins because they will have playing time opportunities. Glad we have our core rotation settled and don't need to depend on that market
The Holliday brothers are AD'S boys, Jrue is his best friend. I imagine the Mavs will make a play for him, as a Kyrie replacement one day.
so mad at the timing of that lillard trade. jrue was the guy who could have helped last year's roster get over the hump, imo. and to have him do it in boston just sucked. anyway, he's even older than kyrie, right? doubt that's the way they go. oh wait this is the stanley johnson thread! go stan! feel like if torrey craig can keep finding spots, stan should be able to crack a roster, too.
Indeed Bucks handed the title to Boston with that trade . Marcus Unsmart was holding the C Bags back by thinking he was the franchise player in 4TH quarters ..
smart was moved in the zinger deal--but they had originally tried to keep him out of it. and here we are, 18 months later and smart is basically dead weight. people talk about pelinka's luck, but boston's had a bunch, too. having holiday become available under bizarre circumstances and having horford come back from the dead (when they traded for him, it was not with his on-court impact in mind, imo)...that's why they have a ring instead of being continually upset by teams with higher iq stars.
I'd really like to see an all defensive lineup of Vando, Stan, DFS, November Cam, and Goodwin. They might not score but they will make that 4 minute shift the longest of the oppositions life.
Is Goodwin “all that” though? While not intently focussing on him I remember at least one guy blowing right by him no problem. He’s not as quick as Vincent or Max is he? Would Gabe not be stronger in that lineup above since Max is no longer here? He’s a little shorter but maybe stronger?
he shot 45% from three with SA when he was last in the nba, right? it was on limited volume, but it's proof of concept. we'll have a couple vet min spots to fill next year, and i'd be good with having stan back for one. nice regular season insurance for vando or DFS. obviously not on their level, but role-wise.
