Yeah I don't presume to know the cause of his issues either. I only know the effect. It's a real problem.

AD doesn’t look fully committed to win for the Lakers because Lebron isn’t either

People call him Robin for a reason. Even Robin had some Batman moments, but he could never be Batman full time.

    1. didn't see portland game, but i saw the same chatter from the previous game, watched it, and didn't see what people were talking about.
    2. the rock's not wrong. lebron sitting sends a message, too.

anyway, i don't think it's about passion or whatever. but i didn't really think that about pau, either. these are just skilled bigs whose game isn't flooring the ball and creating offense. if AD wasn't defending and rebounding (like how he opened last year), i'd be annoyed with him, too. but he's doing that. he's just missing makeable shots (and, in the gs game, getting fouled without whistle on paint attacks).

So, what kind of message is Bron sending by sitting and to whom?

I don't see how one should depend on the other.

Example: Kobe, who was Robin at the time to Shaq's Batman did not ease off the accelerator just because Shaq did.

Again, I'm a big AD fan, but I'm perplexed about him right now. He sat with his injury longer than he needed to when we desperately needed him on the court. Since he is back he is defending and rebounding which is great. No complaint there. I mean how can anyone complain about a 20 rebound game?!? But, his offensive game is meh since his return. Yes, Golden State hacked the :swear: out of him with no calls. But rather than forcing the Refs to give him his calls he has backed off the post and settled for longer jumpers. The problem is they are not falling. He can and should be controlling the game in the paint on both sides of the court. Earlier, when he went on the 10 game tear, I said that version of AD is the best player in the league, and I still stand by that description. But this version of AD is barely top 20 even with the 20 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Yeah, so I’m a “hater” because I’m tired of pretending AD will be healthy. It’s been THREE years of unfulfilled hope.
I love watching AD when he’s healthy and seems like he would be a cool guy to hang out with. I don’t HATE anyone.

i don't know. ask *waves hands* everyone in this thread?

not what happened. he realized his jumper wasn't falling and attacked the paint hard in the 4th quarter, and the refs just swallowed their whistles over and over. we, as a team, (wisely) went to other actions after that. he didn't settle.

trading AD is dumb. 50 games of AD is better than 82 games of what he returns in a trade. that's the point.

i don't think you're a hater (though he has several on this site). i just think you (and others) aren't really understanding the alternative and how much worse it is. good lord, imagine we hadn't traded for AD. hellscape.

I don't see it as an effort thing. Otherwise he wouldn't have 20 boards and three blocks. It's something else that I can't get and I do think it has to do with his injury. He doesn't look right offensively. I don't know how else to describe it. It's not lack of passion or lack of skill. He's just off. And before he was injured he was automatic 35 points a game, completely dominating. So he's obviously not the same. I don't think it's mental, or something going on his life. He's a driven player. He's just kind of sucking on offense right now. Been more than just a game or two. More like the last 4 or 5.

I was all for the AD trade. I’m glad he was healthy enough to help us win our last Chip. I’m just of the belief that he will never be healthy for an entire season ever again.

Oh I saw AD working hard in the post in the 4th of the GS game. Not what I meant. I was referring to his offense since then.

Yeah, I just don’t get it. Tonight, just two days later he’s completely engaged on offense.
    LeBron: “Maybe it’s me”. (Probably)

Much different AD tonight, he stabilized us some when NO got close, he attacked more, he was celebrating when he made some shots, good to see. He and DLo already have some chemistry.

With Lebron out there he has way more room to operate offensively. Teams key in on him a lot when he's out.

Yeah, I don't know, still scratching my head but tonight he was all we need him to be.

I don't think it's just LeBron's presence because AD was dominant during some of the games LeBron missed earlier.

his midrange shot was falling and the refs actually blew the whistle on his drives. good statement block on ingram that pretty much kept him away from the basket for the rest of the night, too.
