Good stuff. Then going with Lonnie, Rui, AD off the bench. Sounds awesome, but too bad we're playing away against the best team in the league.

If we’re healthy the starters should be Schroeder/Lonnie/LeBron/Rui/AD. Russ takes the rest of the PG minutes, Reaves take the rest of the SG minutes. Brown and Christie soak up the minutes at the 3 when one of LeBron/Rui is out. Bryant takes the rest of the 5 minutes.

Rookie coach flashing in bright Vegas style lights.

    Russ in OT. REALLY?!

Why not foul when you're up 3?

Can't figure out how to win a matchup of AD vs a point guard?

Some atrocious decisions, but I’m going to be judging Ham’s performance in this game based on his post-game press conference.

He needs to rip the refs a new one and AT LEAST get a massive fine to send a message. I want him to go even further and be the first coach to get suspended for being so critical of the refs. Hell, run back out and take that camera that Pat Bev was showing the ref and whack an official upside the head with it.

Why hasn’t Ham learned yet that you can’t play Russ down the stretch in a close one?!?!?!?!?!!!!

I’m thiiiiiis close to saying he’s not a good coach. Christie and Wenyen had been playing so well, now they can’t get on the floor. The 3 guard lineups continue, the relying on Russ continues. The only thing keeping me from saying is is this roster just isn’t good, so it’s hard to judge until we have some actual players. You shouldn’t have to be relying on Troy Brown Jr and Pat Bev to close games in Boston …

Brown was fine defensively. But it felt indecisive going from Brown to Rui and then back to Brown.

He doesn't know how to make these minutes work and this is with LW4 on minutes restriction and without AR. Rob has to clear some of the clutter, Ham as a rookie coach isn't capable of making the right lineup decisions with this roster (not saying we're a great team with the perfect lineups of this roster). Some of that lineup conundrum is on Rob for its initial construction. But damn, Ham!

Agree but as well it’s not the roster’s fault that some of its most useful “available” players don’t get off the bench while we watch Bev go way out of his element trying to score one on one and endure all of Russ’s errors plus have him be the nail in the coffin being inserted into the last 3 minutes of overtime …. and Christie and Gabriel were available to help out defense and offense, especially Max, plus Walker is back and could have helped more. Does anyone think Max would have done that drive attempt and not seen LeBron wide open in the corner by 12 feet or have had as many of the rest of his blunders with the same minutes. Ham’s inflexibility and hard headedness cost us this game as much as the ref’s screw up at the end of regulation. He’s not playing the guys who would likely now still and already have performed well.

LT, you should not have to be relying on 19 year old rookie, and a guy who was almost out of the league last season in Wenyen. I like both guys a lot, but on a good, balanced roster, they aren’t seeing much time. That we are asking for them to play more, that we are relying on Troy Brown and Pat Bev to be our clutch shot/3 point shooters at the end of games is not a good sign for this roster. It’s bad in multiple ways, and it’s mediocre in others if I’m being kind.

This is being awfully kind to Ham IMO. Yes the roster has flaws but wouldn't at least try the lineup that just blew a game wide open for u last game. Bryant Lebron Rui Christie and Dennis (basically Lebron with size and shooting)

I totally get coaching involves trusting a guys ability to come thru (Vogel with KCP comes to mind).but in general it doesn't mean u blatantly play guys out of position against bad matchups to do this.

OK. Let me expand: Troy was fine defensively based on the players that Ham would play at that position.*

Troy is going to be better on D than Walker, who was already close to his minute cap. Troy is and should be trusted more than a 2nd round pick rookie. Troy is better than going with the Bev/DS/Russ lineup. If everyone is back, AR is probably in that spot, if not initially, at least after Rui got pulled. But based on who he was going to play, I thought Troy was not the issue on a night there were some loud ones. :cough: Russ :cough:

Troy did not have a good game. He was getting man handled by brown that’s why they called a timeout to take him out of the game in OT. All 3 of Bev, Schroeder and Russ were defending better.

Once again..he put the team in a position to win the game. He can't control the refs, but the players have to execute too, we had our chances to close that one out. The OT strategy was not a good look though.
