i think we're heading there, like we were with russ to bench to occasionally sitting in crunch time. it's a process with these olds.
I agree with you but remember reading in preseason that Bev was considered a "3&D wing" by our coaching staff. Totally agree that moving Bev (or Russ imo) for a guard that shoots well balances our roster near to perfection
After a terrible shooting start, Bev is hitting his 3pt's at 44.1% over the last 20 games. Plus he is still a credible guard defender. I'm thinking we keep him for this season and trade Lonnie + Jones for Burks - another sniper hitting at 43% on the season with more size than Lonnie to balance out our roster.
To be fair, and I’m reaching here, but he shouldn’t be asked to guard Kawhi, ever. Just like Schröder shouldn’t be on Paul George, like what are we doing here.
To be even more fair... both are true. Bev sucks and the Coach is clueless for asking shrimp guards to cover Kawhi and George.
bigger issue is not hitting any shots in this one. it's not like we have anyone who can guard kawhi or paul george. or that we could have anyone who can.
Nothing would make me happier this regular season than to see that scum bucket off my team. I wish we had his cell number. Piven does Patreon messages and if we can dump him, I would gladly pony up the cash to have him leave Patty this message as Ari: Spoiler: NSFW LANGUAGE
plumlee/mcdaniels for bev/lotto protected 1st that turns into 2 seconds. rozier/mcdaniels for bev/walker top-5 protected pick that turns into 2 2nds
Oh man a first for Plumlee/McDaniels? That's a lateral move, not worth a pick no? I get on the Poeltl/Plumlee bit on the other thread Edit: actually can't find it lol I read it though. I see your point in that AD already made it work with traditional centers. But we must remember that D12/McGee rarely closed games. Making that investment in that position doesn't help our team having the strongest closing lineup. It also clogs the paint where LeBron is living right now and where we both agree AD is at his best. As you pointed, also doesn't fit Ham's model. Finally, we just got Rui and commiting a FRP and considerable money on a traditional centers looks like bad business to me. For all of this, I don't think we should pursue players like Plumlee or Poeltl. On Plumlee particularly, he is a bad defender which actually goes against your argument of getting an elite defensive team. He is a great passer, but don't think it fits our game. My priority for the next move, with or without the picks is a guy that can play the 2, either elite defensively or at shooting. OG, Trent, Rozier are guys that fit the bill. I've seen some rumours around VanVleet, I think he will get paid too much to my liking, but he does fit LeBron very well. In the end, I don't think we are pressured to move from a basketball perspective. I think our next move is more to maximize our assets (Russ, Bev, Lonnie) so that we are in a better position this offseason and next season
you know the McDaniels im mentioning is the younger bro with Minn...I assume you thinking of cha McDaniels since plumee in it
lol, i'll take either! pika's right that a 1st is a high cost, though. but protected and for a young player with upside is ok with me. i don't like unprotected and for old players with downside.
