    I'm sure a LARGE part of the Spurs' pitch is that Aldridge will replace the very large shoes of Duncan as the inside presence moving forward once Duncan retires, but... If LA offers him a similar concept with Kobe AND we have a team full of role players already... I think we've got a hell of a pitch to make.

    Commercials and business opportunities that TWC higher ups can provide for him. He can have his own TV show on TWCSportsnet if he wants, they probably have portfolios for him to improve his business enterprises, etc. etc.

    The TV guys are probably there to get the most out of their investment. I'd bet they were hoping for a little different team what they signed the big contract.

    The try for LMA I like. Jordan not so much.

    If I'm Aldridge.. The 1st question I'm asking is "How long is Pop staying on board"..???
    Long standing rumor has been that Pop hangs 'em up when Duncan does..

    Might be true as far as playing goes, but if he has a house near Kobe then I don't think he's wanting to live in a place like Wisconsin anytime soon.

    That's an excellent pick but... is Scott that much better than whomever they'd pick? The Lakers have a rough track record of coaches lately. The Spurs have some cache in that regard.

    makes a lot of sense to have them there because they can talk about promotional things (ex: tv shows) and different ways to market his brand on the Lakers Television network
