I don't that's very clear at all and if that's true, it makes very little sense. How are the Lakers going to unload every contract they have without taking back any salary and find equal trades in the process. That doesn't make sense at all.
The idea of LA/DJ together along with keeping Russell, Clarkson and Kobe... If all we gotta do is unload Randle/Young/Kelly and we sign both LA and DJ....holy moly...we ensure both our present and our future. Best of both worlds basically.
Sign and trade with Clippers might be the only way....other way could be trading to a dump like the Sixers who are willing to take every and any deal that contains an asset...Randle can be of some use to them with the 3 centers they have...also another way is a sign and trade with the BLAZERS....sending randle clarkson young for LMA...there's a lot of ways this can happen.
Okay, but unless you're trading Russell and Randle and Clarkson directly to those teams, you're not getting enough value back for them. Russell and Randle mean more to the franchise than they're worth in a trade. Unless you're getting back a 1st round pick, does it make sense to move those players for nothing? I don't think so.
David stern is gone Its the adam silver era With stern we would have gotten the 10th pock in the draft he hated us
So we bring out a contingent with serious clout to woo Aldridge... I read that Jamie Foxx is helping Uncle Fester convince Jordan.
No. Are you comfortable trading any combination of the two or three of them for just the one player, either Jordan or Aldridge? I'm not. Not even close.
I'm not comfortable trading any of them but Randle in the scenario where we get both Jordan and LMA. He's the one that would have least opportunity and makes the most sense to trade. can't we get it done by trading him in a S&T with Portland, keeping Clarkson and unloading our other non-rookies?
Prob a pipe dream unless they each take less money but i wouldnt wanna trade both clarkson AND randle 1 of the 2 yes but both no I wish that we could get both LA and deandre withouy giving them up but its prob not happening
I just don't have the cap knowledge to know if that would work. I know we'd have to get rid of him for the 3 million and I think that's the likely landing spot for him. But Portland probably asks for Clarkson and/or Russell as well. If we're trading the young guys I want to get back at least a pick or two in the process.
Lakers aren't going to give up all 3...nor do they have to. LMA and DJ can both sign for a little less than max...both would still have starting salaries in the 16-17M range...I think if I'm lakers, you dangle Randle/Young/Kelly to either Blazers or Clipppers....if either don't bite, then we trade that package to a team that has cap space and will give us a future first round pick...Philly, Charlotte, Milwaukee, Detroit, heck even the KNICKS....teams like this would gladly take this package for the sheer fact that it has Randle in it. If we gotta part with Clarkson too, I would be a little hesitant....but meh, if it means getting arguably the best shotblocker and rebounder in the game to go with arguably the 2nd best PF in the game...and we get to keep Russell? Sign me up. We have ensured both our present and the future this way....and next summer? Hello Butler or KD (i know it's pipe but he'll be more interested at that point)
