I have to be the only poster who thinks Lebron can't stay healthy for the majority of the season and for a full playoffs run anymore .

Yep the FO needs to be humble and admit we're not the real Lakers anymore when it was title or bust .

There is success in making the WCSF ... would be better than this mess .

The Jeanie Buss/Pelinka era " Lakers are either a lottery team or a championship team" makes ZERO sense when it comes to team building.

lebron should shut up if he doesn't want to be centered in the discussion. clearly, he wants to be.

oh, i get that. and that's fine. seemed like you were suggesting that the FO itself was taking that attitude, which i think is an insane suggestion and definitely out of the anthony irwin set.

me too. i just think that the absence of a deal does not necessarily signify lack of interest in a deal. all summer slick tried to pretend like we weren't shopping russ because he hadn't been traded, and everyone laughed. because we clearly were shopping russ hard, as we learned after the dust settled. i think the same is happening now. we're shopping russ, bev, nunn, and jones to anyone who will listen. and those two picks are on the table. just not for the junk that everyone was trying to get them for in the summer (and may still be).

i'd like to hear a reporter ask lebron what he means by compete at the highest level. because i think he means "contend for a title" and not "finish solidly in 6th place" which is where the very best of the deals we've imagined would put us.

i think the idea would be that it frees us up to use the full mle if we operate over the cap, plus it gets us out of repeater territory. i don't love it at all, but i get it. we're talking about the team that let caruso go over such matters.

i'm right there. "mr. glass" has missed 10 games this year and lebron has missed 8. i'll be shocked if he doesn't have another soft tissue thing that keeps him out a couple weeks or more. it's been pretty standard through his time here.

but i think he knows that, and it's why he pushed for russ, thinking he'd carry the team during those stretches.

Lebron's departure from the Lakers can't come soon enough. We are mired in mediocrity, we are not a title contending team and neither have we begun the rebuilding process towards that.

If there's a blame chart for the last 2.5 years of mediocrity I would put it like this

    1) Lebron 50%
    2) Jeanie 20%
    3) AD 20%
    4) Pelinka 10%

What mediocrity man? The Jazz or the Blazers are mediocre. We're nowhere close to mediocrity right now. It would be nice if we were.

We have been a dumpster fire THREE out of the five seasons LeGM has been here.

    37-45. No playoffs
    52-19 Won Bubble Chip
    42-30. Lost in first round
    33-49. No playoffs
So far: 14-21. Barring miraculous turnaround: no playoffs

Don’t come back at me with “but, but if AD didn’t get injured…” garbage. Injuries forever have been and will remain part of the game.
LeGM’s injuries aren’t going to magically go away with more mileage either: they will get more frequent and potentially worse. I think he’s currently doing us a favor by his passive/aggressive quotes. It’s time to move on and build a team we all can happily root for instead of this Klutch controlled mess.

REALLY bittersweet for me that plaschke is the media personality to pick up this gauntlet. he's 10000% correct, though.

just don't sign the extension, lebron. once you did, it was time to shut up permanently.

He wanted the money and to be on a contender where he doesn't have to do as much.

OMG he said he wanted to win while showing he's still a max contract type of player.

Yeah let's trust an organization that gave away guys Caruso, Zubac, etc for nothing and not trade picks that people think will be valuable because the organization hasn't shown that it can be good since their HOF owner passed away

Terrific game and we needed it all plus love TB’s effort and great hands with the 19 17.

But man is LeBron at the age of 38 taking that running away hang twist around to a level maybe we haven’t seen? And he’s shooting them for a high % I’d guess. That last one in the forth he was in a power drive under the basket and didn’t slow down with his back still to the basket. Impressive. Same as Kobe’s J’s from deep falling away always blew me away he could do those. Well of course he could … had to because Mike had also perfected them.

I guess that ankle injury and illness really took a lot out of him earlier on in the year. He's just been incredible physically since he's come back from injury.

I like this way of pressuring the FO to make a move. Way better than the passive agressive interviews or using his influence in the media backstage

A few more games like this and we are probably making a trade with the picks

This kid can hoop...glad for him, it's been a rough couple of years for Thomas. He's played well since he got back.
