We are going to have to call this guy the new microwave, he gets hot and scores in bunches, seems to do it in the critical part of the game.
He's just a good fit with the team. We needed a young, fast, athletic scoring guard and that's exactly what he is. Not being a total matador on defense also helps. I mean, he's not great, but I really have no big complaints about his defense. He's a net positive in any case.
I could understand trying to sit Lonnie to protect his foot but Reaves as well. Just asking for trouble
Extremely nice game tonight 4-4 from deep. Two highlights jams. 3rd in scoring with 20. No excuse for only playing him 25 minutes though. He only logged 1 more minute than Pat**** Beverley
Keep it up kid! Ham is looking dumb for not playing him more. What else does he need to do to earn more minutes?
Right. And Reaves doesn't play instead of PatBev because we need him on the bench next to Lonnie massaging said foot.
Ham preferring BevMo over either Austin or Lonnie is just mind boggling to me. Beverly is just runnin’ around there most nights while not affecting the outcome of the game. Maybe he’s just being “showcased?” Nevermind, you would have to be playing well for that to work. Anyway, at least he’s a good sportsman and never takes cheap shots at other players.
LOL ... tough question. Probably Ham with all the Xs and Os but then the stupid f****** lineup decisions. I think Frank would have done better with this roster and Russ having to buy in to coming off the bench and eating it if taken out in the 4th due to the contract / career year situation he's in ........... possibly.
i think ham, luke, and vogel would have performed similarly with this roster, tbh. i actually like that ham has been pushing the right psychological buttons, even if the lineups are frustrating. he's got AD taking the lead and russ coming off the bench and not going nuclear in the press. and yes, i wish he'd quit playing bev and three small guard lineups when you aren't big in the frontcourt to begin with. anyway, this is about lonnie. i really enjoy watching him play. he's like kcp but with handles. not as good team d instincts, but similarly good in terms of hounding smaller ballhandlers (which was our best deployment of kcp). hopefully, we can sell him on the kcp trust contract plan.
Hate it for him. Really the only Laker who got real time tonight who looked B-A-D. Not his fault. You can't expect a microwave to cook if you don't let the plate spin a bit.
i think he gets lost a bit when schroder plays next to him in the starting lineup. i'd like to see a starting lineup with no pgs: brown/reaves/walker/lebron/AD. maybe it doesn't work, but we should try it a few games. i think between lonnie and reaves, you can get the ball up the floor and get into your sets well enough. also gives some decent size across the board.
