the rule itself makes sense, but tbh, there should be an appeals process for a case like this. it's not like other teams are beating down stan's door to give him a contract. i bet we'd cut ryan and sign him tomorrow if we could.
LOTS of teams did the whole boomerang scenario for years. and it definitely cheapened the process when you could trade a guy, have him cut, and then re-sign him immediately. but that was mostly for guys whose salaries were too big to claim off waivers and/or would have been sought by at least a few teams. i totally get why the nba created the rule, and it's largely been positive. just not in this one dumb case.
15 points in 22 minutes. Great energy. He thought he was Steph after this one Then he settled back into his role after a couple missed 3s he had no business taking. Back into the paint. Got a couple nice and-1s. Nice showing!
I love this dude. He’s always hunting offense rebounds and contesting shots, he’s always moving and cutting, he’s a really good finisher, just pure hustle, and yet his game is improving overall as well.
Lebron looked like. He Gaines confidence w him didn't trust him with a pass but after last night he showed he can finish w contact
Giannis is supposed to wreck backups, he's the best player in the league. He totally cooked AD in the last two meetings between these teams too. I'm lookin for Anthony to step up to the challenge tonight.
Everyone laughs when I suggest Gabriel guard these guys. You aren’t stopping Giannis, just let Gabriel go at him and pick up 6 fouls and make life tough. Get into him and make it physical. Then AD can wreck Lopez. Otherwise you got AD guarding Giannis which isn’t a good go. Or you got Lebron doing it which is even worse.
For a portion of the game sure, he's still going to be on Giannis a lot.He wasn't matched up against the 5 exclusively in the last two games. The Greek Freak was giving him the business from what I saw..often. I'll just chalk it up to injuries, he was better against him previously.
i'll chalk it up to "didn't really happen". much like tonight AD didn't take it to giannis, he took it to the bucks. giannis took it to the lakers, not AD in particular. if you read the forums after those games, you'd think it was a one-on-one matchup with 4 spectators or something. just not at all. they don't actually guard each other much. anyway, gabriel had good, active minutes again.
They hunted him when they could. Good effort and activity, especially on the glass. But yeah, in a playoff game (and this had that intensity) you can't play him double digit minutes.
Gabriel is a solid bench player Abeer, I like this kid.I don't care if he's on a minimum salary. He's a damn good value pick up for us. AD balled out, I expected that like I posted earlier, Giannis did too, good to get the win!
