Everyone in the media keeps saying how they set up the play and that LBJ and AD were decoys..well I tell you what, Matt's shot was a circus shot and praise be to Jesus, Allah and Adam Silver that it went in because I don't think you make that shot on a second try. Falling away at an angle with a nanosecond to release from basically the baseline......crazy. He completely put the slip on Trey Murphy though. And I hate to admit but I turned it off before the free throws, I was so pi$$ed off at the team for losing the lead they controlled for 2 quarters. I've done that once or twice before in my life, turned off the game before some miracle comeback. Hey, it's what Youtube is for.

No, now that I watched live as it happened. That was absolutely one of the sports highlights of my life. I still replay it just to get that feeling again.

Oh Dude!! You were there??? How f****** AWESOME. I've told this story a few times here before, but I wasn't there and the moment on TV and Vinnie's incomparable call and magnificent wordsmanship of it in real time and following the HR, in a little bar area of a wedding reception I was shooting video for on one of my own jobs, in a banquet room off the water at the Balboa Bay Club ..... as the party was drawing to a close, left me on such an incredible high and with a beer buzz as well as I was packing up my equipment to leave with all of it on my rolling cart .... that it wasn't until I was on the 405 heading north homeward that I realized I left my camera and a couple other things in a corner off of the dance floor. Sheer terror!!

It was like 12:45AM when I got home and thinking it would be impossible to get any good news at that point in time so late or even reach anyone, I called a member of the wedding party who had helped coordinate the whole event for the B&G. Amazingly I got ahold of her and she said they had spotted my gear and picked it up and it was safe with them.

I was a HUGE Ali fan and back in the day was in a theater watching a big screen closed circuit PPV of the Rumble In The Jungle and hyper ventilating the whole fight in fear for him, not really processing his game plan (he certainly did weather a lot of heavy blows, no doubt). But when he knocked George out that was the highlight of my sports fan's life up until that point in time. Until Gibson's home run. Which still is I suppose. Huge Lakers championship game wins all up in that same stratosphere.

No no sorry, I should clarify, I was at home watching it "live" on tv, funny enough it was the same house I am in and I was sitting about 15ft away from where I"m typing now. I was in So Cal at least lol. Being there would be like the greatest thing ever, I think I would have just stripped and ran around Elysian Park screaming.

I was at Staples the game after Fisher hit that 0.4 second shot in the Spurs series. They had the greatest opening ever for that game, huge orchestral build up then they dropped the curtains on the giant video screens and then it went silent while Fisher drops that bomb in slow-mo and then a deep voice (I swear it was Shaq) came on and said "Now Let's Finish This!"

    Badass.

Matt missed a couple defensive assignments and got the bench today. Learn and be ready. We need his shooting but got to get that d done as well. I know he can play defense as well so not cutting him any slack...lol.

He's not lacking in confidence, that's a good thing to have for a shooter. He's going to draw attention whether he's with the starters or bench guys.

maybe it was a favor to him to give him more opportunities to catch on elsewhere? interesting that they'd already decided to cut him, though, right?
