Cap took a backseat and still won a Finals MVP at 38. Lebron should take note, Lakers fans shouldn't give a damn about him breaking some record. We are chasing 18..nothing else matters.

I completely agree, but nobody ever confused Cap’s intelligence with LeBron’s.

The ball was moving before Russ left in the fourth. There was a couple of great plays where the ball had real energy and was zipping around the court till it found the open man.

Then we started iso’ing and you could feel the confidence just falling apart. I mean Troy Brown felt the pressure and fumbled a pass.

You team that with no defensive effort and you give up a 17 point lead in the fourth.

This is why many of us like the ball in Austin’s hands late in games over both Russ or LeBron. He never makes boneheaded plays, can make one for himself if a pass isn’t available, and you will never see him over dribble and stall out the offense. He may not be a PG in title, but I have more confidence in him keeping the ball moving and making the proper basketball play than anyone else currently allowed to handle the ball.

Only 2 shots for AD in the 2nd half is unacceptable

obviously if you put anyone under a microscope, stuff will surface, and i think the last bit is a stretch--but generally, this guy's right. lebron's lack of effort is obvious on both ends. it was last year, and it's continued.

if AD had shot a one-legged fade over tj mconnell, there would be relentless national news pieces about his feminine genitalia and such.

Honestly, the defence from Lebron was like this the whole fourth quarter. The offence was just iso'ing and jacking up shots.

I just felt we took the foot off the pedal too quickly and Lebron just wanted to coast in. Not good.

I'm sure he's going to play well tonight and we'll get the win.

i don't love the focus on FGAs--context matters--but yeah, it's clear AD is the best player on the team. the message is more for the FO than lebron, though, imo. build a team that accentuates AD's strengths. finally. please. we traded for a superstar in his prime three years ago and have made no purposeful attempt to center that guy. maybe the injuries would have negated it, but now we're behind the curve.

Bron's job, at this point in his career, should be to set up AD, make sure the offense runs smoothly, and play some passable defense. You don't have to score 25+, 16-17 should be just fine. You will pass Kareem man, just play the right kind of basketball. No random Dirk shots with plenty of time on the clock... just move the ball.

And he did against Grant who typically knows how to play him well and forces him to work on defense. Too easy to jump on Lebron and AD this season as you have a whole bunch of guys who can't contribute: Nunn, Jones, Bevs and another guy who hopefully we will never see in crunch time again in Russ AND a team who really seems to be designed to only work after a trade happens.

Outside of the last Pacers run which was another coach giving Russ the benefit of the doubt for millionth time this team has been good since AD and Lebron are healthy and they've finally have some guys in Reaves and Dennis who can actually are NBA caliber rotation players

Props. What the hell was last game?

I suspect Bron will live and die by the three. When it falls, it opens up the floor a little, he doesn't have to drive his BS drives...

You can't get the most out of James when he has no shooting around him: He's too old to be able to blow by the second layer of defense now but frankly that hasn't been the case even when the Lakers won the title (he can turn it on for bursts but not a whole game).

So in other words it's not so much his shooting, it goes back to Ham going with Russ and no Reaves till just a few minutes left: get the right players around him and this also applies to AD and they will look like they should

That’s it, Pioneer 10. That’s why you and I and some others here like JSM have been pounding this thing into the ground. Get them a few good players and we’ve got something. And yes the FO does owe us that much. Give us a legit product that we can root for. Finish up this roster and let’s roll.
