I would too, simply because he is getting paid way too much. But, I would not send out all our draft picks for it and now that he is beginning to play better, we may not be getting that much better.

Incredible how there's people that want him now lol never saw so polarized supporters like LA fans. All it takes is a 3-win streak

He must be traded. But we are buying time and increasing his value each game (and win). Kudos to Ham for pulling it off and Rob for the patience, it's great for our future.

Not sure if he signs anywhere below the MLE, he's still the same person who thinks too much of himself

Our best way out is keeping the picks and add 1/2 good role players, even if it's for the future

We're also playing some bad teams: even in this "comeback" year he's been flat out terrible to finish games that cost the Lakers win against better competition. Lakers need to use that big cap number to get back assets as they don't have the draft picks to do and FA is a crap shoot

The Russ test for me has been that I find myself looking forward to watching him play vs last season it took everything in me to not turn the game off.

He has played much better but you can't field a winning team with him making 47 mil. Same is probably true with Lebron's old, broken down behind making 44 though...

If Lebron has another run in him, it would be best to break Russ up into 3 useful players.

Let's hope Lebron has taken a trip to Miami during his recovery :LLLLLebronlaughing:

That’s it. He’s taking up too much $ to be a sixth man off the bench when we are filling in starting roles with guys who are cooked like Pat Bev or vet mins like Brown/Jones. We have real positions of need. Russ is a luxury for the bench that we can’t afford and can’t use up all that salary with signings after he expires because of Lebron’s extension. He needs to be moved at the deadline for the best offer.

In the meantime with Dennis back we should be trying to move Pat Bev and Nunn for one of those positional needs - wing, center or high % 3 point SG.

Also re: Schroder what I should have said instead of the same role as Russ is rather he can fill the same position, i.e. backup PG. No he can’t pass or set guys up as well as Russ, but I don’t think he needs to as a bench player 6th man. He came runner up to SMOY doing it and he’s pretty much the same player he was then. It’s his optimal use/position and is how he should have been used last time around.

my point was that we may not be presented with the options people want, and that there are multiple paths forward, especially considering we also have nunn/bev to move.

Karacha I think you read my post wrong, I said I don’t think he is much of a playmaker.

nunn is showing signs of improvement with his shooting, while the yapping poodle continues to suck more and more, his defense reputation is over stated, all he does is foul n get touched by opposing team star guard, how rob thinking that scrub could defend forwards is beyond me

11/8/6 but man I thought he had an awful game out there. 6 TOs, 4/12 FG, 0-3 from 3.

This was easily his best play

He's tough for pouring blood and getting back out there (smart of Bron to lock him up and then cover him with a towel)

I agree. Awful game. Dumb shots again (because the first of his idiotic bank shots accidentally went in), dumb TOs. HORRIBLE defense -- he got burned on two back cuts, on two consecutive possessions, because he was ball watching or something.

he is who he is now. a bench sparkplug who can turn the game in your favor some nights and needs to be nailed to the pine other nights. if we were paying him 1/6 of his salary, i think people would probably be ok with him!
