It's not the roster, we wouldn't be much better if we had Caruso, KCP and Kuzma right now. We might have won a couple of more games. Lebron and AD haven't performed at that elite level we needed. Both have their excuses but it's going on 3 seasons in a row with the excuses.

It is the roster though. We went 8-10 in 20-21 with BOTH of them out. Now we can't even win if both are in.

Didn't play the same type of schedule, we didn't beat any good teams without them in 20-21 either. We dropped two games to Russ and the Wizards We lost games with BOTH of them in that year too.

Those games weren't this early in the season either.

it's Lebron and AD slipping...way more than anything else. When they do play, the chemistry still isn't there yet.

Stop moving the goalposts. We beat a 36-16 team without both Lebron and AD.

Also, maybe Lebron and AD are performing lower than expectation due to the roster around them? I'm mean they're paint scores going up against a packed paint.

Agree on both points. Right now these are a big deals as we obviously need to put together a few wins.

It seems we have both things going on. AD and Lebron are not playing up to the level expected and needed, obviously Lebron isn't playing at all at the moment. Role players have been struggling as well. The role players would look better with the stars playing better and probably vice versa. Another thing I think is hurting us is Ham being a rookie coach finding his way. I think he will do well over time. Vogel masked a lot of our weaknesses with some veteran coaching and defensive schemes. He would not have let Fox beat us by himself. We are currently battling uphill on every front.

That's not a damn goal post..that's 52 games vs 11 man. It's not some given that they would have beaten that same team in games 1-11. No Lebron has struggled to finish without the lift and his shot was mia..it has absolutely nothing to do with a packed paint for him. AD disappearing on offense in 2nd halves has nothing to do with a packed paint either. Those two have gotten a lot of good looks, Bron has been stalling the ball and Anthony has been floating around aimlessly far too much.

so the team quits defending, and that's on the FO and not the coach?

yeah, i'm just not impressed so far.

the utah jazz had every reason to quit coming into the season based on their roster construction. yet there they are.

Drop coverage sucks..sucked when Frank did it too. But yeah...so far Darvin has been just as unimaginative as Frank was on offense IMO. Where are the plays? Movement, cutting...it's Iso, Iso,Iso

    I like Ham a lot. .

    I think he'll be fine.

But he deserves some blame too. You're 2-10. Nobody is blameless.

Defense is hard and takes a lot of commitment, especially when you know you're in an uphill battle with the players next to you. When you're getting abused nightly because the team sucks, why bother?

AD was not given help. Why try to continue to keep up his DPOY play when it will only result in him getting hurt and furthering the narrative that he can't stay on the court?

If you're any Laker and see this

Why bother? There's a tape delay between what's transpiring and when he processes it.

Ham was given a s*** hand and he's not perfect (I still think Vogel should be here), but it's hard to get a full commitment when you're a bad team. Players also struggle to buy in when they're anticipating a trade and don't know if they'll be here in a month or two.

Easier to do when you have zero pressure or expectations. They're playing free. This is LA and as long as Bron and AD are here, there's heavy post-season expectations. Even when the hard-core fans like us here see a flawed roster with a play-in ceiling, we do not reflect the majority or the casual Laker fan.

Sometimes you need you need your superstars to say " Get on my back and we are taking this game". Lebron has tried but he's been out of rhythm, AD has put up good player numbers, but so far not exactly the dude I was expecting. One day they might be healthy at the same time..soon I hope.

It is moving goal posts. You first said, they never beat any good teams. I showed you they did in fact. Now, you're introducing games into the season when that wasn't part of your original statement.

Lebron has struggled and probably is in decline. But the players on this team hardly make things easier for him. AD has been good but is dealing with double and triple teams in the 2nd half. I see you don't mention Russ. He gets paid more than both of them so his expectation should be to also be a superstar. The bar shouldn't be so low for him.
