Whose minutes is he going to take? Maybe 6 from Beverley and 3-4 from Lonnie? Some from Matt Ryan? I don’t want him taking any minutes from Russ or Reaves. Bev (20) / Russ (10) / Schroeder (18) Lonnie (24) / Russ (20) / Reaves (4) Brown Jr (24) / Reaves (20) / Matt Ryan (4) Lebron (34) / Matt Ryan (6) / Backup PF (8) AD (34) / Backup C (14) It’s pretty clear one of Nunn, Schroeder or Bev is surplus with how well Lonnie and Brown Jr have played. Do we package Bev for something else? I’m also curious to see who wins out with the backup PF/C spots. JTA, Gabriel and Bryant are all kind of in play at the moment.
Nunn and Beverly match Turner's salary. Giving up them and a FRP is a no brainer. I guess Indiana wants to offload Buddy's contract or something, but not on us hopefully.
I’d be down for Bamba or Turner at the 5 for our surplus guards. That kind of evens out our rotation a bit more. And you’re right it’s probably going to be Nunn and Beverley because of their contracts. The other options is to look at somewhere like Toronto that has a surplus of small forwards but could use some guards. Beverley, Nunn and a first could get you an OG Annouby. And then you rely on Bryant, Jones or Wenyen rounding into form.
Annouby at 25 would be a great idea, but he’s owed three more years. Boucher is a cheaper but still effective option at 11-12 million for the next three seasons. Mo Bamba is probably getting traded but he might come attached to Ross. FRP for them? IDK
Annouby is owed for another two after this year. And at 18 and 19m - which is a reasonable contract for a 3&D SF of his caliber. If the nets implode and look to trade KD, I try to get in on that trade as the third team sending Bev, Nunn and a first for OG and maybe a thrown in from the nets like TJ Warren, Markieff Morris or Kessler Edwards.
what is the appeal here with Bamba? its his 5th year and still coming off the bench with very little impact, is it the 28th% from 3's? lol
Young, long, block shots, and stays out of the way on offense, beside shooting 3's, and he's on a cheap contract. I wouldn't give up a FRP for him tho.
I believe the expectation is we'll get some kind of update on both the Hedgehog Elf and Thomas Bryant this week.
Considering the amount of thumb-sucking both are probably doing after watching the piece of crap on the floor, the injuries have been re-aggravated multiple times lately.
On the LFR pod Trudell said he found out that DS could be back for the Detroit game at the end of next week. He still has to clear a few hurdles, but that's the most recent timeline. Then we can put Nunn out of his misery.
