Ability, not opportunity. What I'm saying is - a player scoring 40 once or twice is no indication of an exceptional talent.
We need Pat Bev to be great, we need him to show some skills because that 13 million isn't just flying off the books because we don't want him anymore. Right now, the only way he goes out is if a longer contract (that isn't wanted) comes in. People have got in involved in all kinds of trades well, bad news, most of those teams are not interested in him.
Pat's market will open up as we get near the deadline. Teams that want to make a last push to get in the playoffs will value his defense and leadership. Especially some of these young teams like Magic, Detroit, Cavs, Houston, etc I think he still has a role to play in our team for the time being
You're expecting teams like the Magic, Detroit & Houston to try and make a last push to get in the playoffs? Do you even watch basketball?
They were examples. There's an "etc" there and it's 4am where I am lol. Just young teams I remembered. Those teams will be looking for Victor obviously, but if you want more accurate information: Washington, Pels, Knicks, Mavs, even Philly may benefit having Pat, etc
eh, i think his value will be only as an expiring. if he proves to have value to a playoff team, we'll just keep him. but if you're dealing with a bad team later in the year, you can even get a better player on an expiring. like, houston's not getting a 1st for eric gordon, so when the deadline comes, if someone offers a 2nd rounder for him along with no salary commitments beyond this year, he's going there--just to do right by him.
That particular head shot …. first up on the LB home page slide show. Josh Hart bent over disconsolate head shake.
The actual head shot straight out of the camera actually with the blinks fits the theme better. But that is funny too.
Pat Bev is starting to look a lot like Darvin's version of Avery Bradley. I'm sure that he will point to his impact beyond the stat sheet, like Frank did with Avery. He needs a breakout game here soon though, especially at home. The 3 pt shooting is surprisingly bad(worse than Russ), and his D has been good in spots, but just OK overall. Nunn deserves another crack at it IMO. 30 minutes a game is too much playing time for Bev right now IMO. Folks are looking at Dennis being the answer but I think Schroder would be excellent next to Westbrook off the bench.
But the fact of the matter is Avery Bradley actually shot 39% from three last year for us. Frank overused him early on but remember we had so many guys out, no one else could really step into that role. Later Reaves started taking minutes from AB which was fine, he was playing well. Soon, Ham needs to do the same with Pat Beverly. Take him out of the starting lineup, insert either Schroder or Reaves instead and just play him spot minutes as a defender.
Reaves,Walker and Brown with AD at 5. Or Reaves, Walker and Gabriel for a bigger lineup. Russ is going to be a problem for any team's 2nd unit. That's the best outline for our success IMO. Bev, Nunn, Jones, Ryan and later Schroder and Bryant. We need those guys to fill in the blanks from game to game. How successful can we be? Of course it depends on Lebron and AD.
hmph...would have hoped to see if he could slow mitchell down and prove to be useful for the first time this season.
