And the player wants out of his current situation. His Franchise would rather get something very good in return that can play some of the time, and just may overcome his injury issues, than nothing at all.

If they get Wenbanyama - no. But I think it’s safe to say that happens. Other than that, yes he was. And I love Ingram.

 

We are going to finish with a better record than the Pelicans.

Do you not remember @sentientmeat? That was exactly his thing about not wanting to trade the “kids” for AD.

 

yeah, did i miss where the pelicans got a ring? ingram hasn't played more than 62 games since the move and played 51 last year, btw. i'm sure the forgiving fan base here would have been cool with it, though. because the very most important statistic is number of games played, without context.

I agree. I think we are getting this figured out. We seem kind of like a ticking bomb ready to go off. I get hammered for being overly optimistic but I still have hopes for a good season. Nice to see you Slick.

 

As much as I liked all those guys when you win a ring the trade was a good one. Rings are not easy to come by. When we traded for Kareem I hated it bc I liked the players we had to let go but as the championships racked up I started liking it a bit more...lol. No, I'm not comparing AD to the GOAT, just the situation.

 

yeah, the title ended the conversation for good. people act like they're so easy to get. well, it's going to be a while for us, and it's been literally forever for some teams. it doesn't matter what happens from this point forward. if we're lucky enough to be presented with a similar trade in the future, we can and will do it again.

i'm not as optimistic we'll be better than NO. green's figured out some things over there, and they put up points even when their big dogs are out, so they're not going to drop a lot of games against bad teams. plus, they have a full 4-game lead on us already!

i do have doubts that a) we're going to finish below 10th and b) they're going to finish above 5th, though.

anyway, if all that happens, this will be the first year since the trade that NO is appreciably better than us, and we're almost free from our obligations to that trade. by the time the dust settles, we'll have one title and have gone from being one of the very worst teams in the league for several years running to...not that.

 

I can't read the standings at the moment. I mean the West top4 has Portland, Utah and Spurs lol
Warriors and Clippers are outside of the play-in too Memphis, Denver and Dallas in the play-in. .

I think it's good for us the West is so weird right now. It's up to us to start grabbing some wins and take advantage of it


We also play Utah twice and the Spurs 3 times this month. It's unfortunate we get them now, those are must win games

 

yeah, i highly doubt the standings look anything like this in march. probably not even in december, tbh.

and i agree--anyone who's had to play SA or utah early has to be upset. you know they're going to start tanking at some point, and you had to get them before they got serious about it!

anyway, it's the AD thread--maybe we can rest him in those games, and it might help prevent the psychological letdown that playing those teams can have. i really think that's part of their early success--everyone expects to win those games and doesn't show up engaged.

 

We are 4 games out of 1st place, and nobody looks like a monster team in the West to me.
