Russ starting or coming off the bench doesn’t really matter. It’s the crunch time minutes that are the issue.

When teams put a C on him that just ignores his shooting and sags off to the paint - it’s just a disaster. Russ as is, is basically unrecognisable from the player he was even at Washington a season and a few months ago. Let alone OKC Russ.

At this point it feels like Russ is just trolling Lebron

feel like washington was a mirage of sorts. or being more generous, it's the upside of what i imagine him as a 25mpg bench player could be.

at least we're now starting the progression. try the bench role (which involves not closing games--just playing the middle 12s of the halves). if he sucks or pouts, he's out for good.

This sort of thing is why I wish he didn’t travel with the team, tell the clown to stay home. It’s like when you’ve graduated early but still have class for weeks, or are on the way out at a job but still have 2 weeks, “f it, I’m outta here soon”.

FML we might have been even worse without him tonight because when LeBron sat we had zero playmaking. What was this team going to even do if they didn’t sign Schröder? And he isn’t even a real playmaker, but at least he can get to the hoop I guess? Good lord this sucks, now I see why some have said we aren’t talented enough to send Russ home. I don’t want to watch him play, but I see that argument now, s***.

Can’t allocate that much of your resources for the 12 minutes LeBron sits

Goddamn it, we had to win it.
Many things weren't good, but my top 3 are:
    - we won't win many games if LeBron scores 19
    - we won't win many games if AD is hobbled, he was basically non-existent in the 2nd half, albeit the great effort and respectable statline
    - we have to outscore teams on fast breaks by a wide margin every game

This team still competes every game and are still learning the system, but it's going to be a long season. We need several guys to step up

eh, he might have helped in this one, or he might have made it a 20 point loss instead of 10.

i do know he single-handedly lost the portland game, which was really our only probable win in the first 7 games.

I’m still flabbergasted that Lebron being the basketball savant that he is thought that replacing KCP, Kuz and Trezz with Westbrook was a good idea. Even more angry at Rob and AD for being beta males and co-signing on that foolishness. It’s like they didn’t experience how they successfully defended Russ in the bubble.
