Well Ham better not continue to start him at home because it is about to get Kwame / late last year WB himself UGLY with the fans cascading boos on him because of the BRICKS, even if he’s doing much better comparatively on defense than last year.

If he’s coming off the bench with a shorter leash dependent on his play any game …. much more slack from pissed off Laker Fan.

Unless the stink from farts of his brain become a problem (likely) again. Such as game one where he scores on a lob jam and gets all pumped up and primal screaming …. and then like a moron knocks the ball out of the opponent’s hand before he even has a chance to inbound the pass.

There's a good case to bring him from the bench against Portland. But if we do it, it's hard to bring him back to the lineup so it may be too soon

I'm not sure what I would prefer. Part of me wants to go that route asap, but it may not be the smartest if too early.

This. He has no trade value as a player. If we send him home it does nothing to his value. I think the only reason we haven’t is the Lakers don’t want to admit to that level how bad this has worked out, and they don’t want to do that to a former star as well, to have that negative press. That, and we need bodies I guess, maybe if Shröder wasn’t injured they might consider it more.

I reiterate it does. It's basic notions of negotiation. If he's not playing, we've no leverage at all. While he is playing, we have some. Even better if he's just average.

We need teams to come deal with us. Not the entire league knowing we have 47M sitting while Lebron's window closes. We may need Reaves or pick swaps just because of that

We already have more than half of the league wanting us to fail and not dealing in good faith. We shouldn't give them more reasons to

Russ has wonderful trade value IMO: if you're an owner who sees this s***

Russ is the greatest tank commander you can have: you get to dump millions of salary and you can try to sell non-engaged fans we got Russell freakin Westbrook

I can agree that him being sent home might give other teams a little leverage based on how desperate it would make us look, but I don’t think by much because his value is already zero. No team is trading for Russ to play him, it’s strictly for his expiring contract, so in that sense I still say it doesn’t matter if he’s played or not. He’s 47 million dollars in cap space, he’s not being judged as a player by teams. Unless those teams want to play him to suck more.

i'm with weezy--slight benefit to him doing literally anything, but only for the sake of posturing.

i'm actually kinda sad about westbrook (as opposed to angry). i was hoping he'd get a shot at redemption here and find the right balance between wisdom and ability before the ability left him.

it's just not happening. nobody else thinks this, but i still think it would be cool for him to go to SA, be russ, help pop screw around with the non-tanking teams here and there, and become a beloved figure in SA to finish his career. feel like him and pop would actually get along a lot better than most think. but maybe i'm drunk.

    wait...it's friday. not maybe.

i don't think russ is the bad guy we think he is. his teammates love him. i hate some of the stuff he does on the court, and he's a kind of weird guy. but he's not a bad guy. and i think pop respects this sort of thing. also: SA isn't trying to win.

I don’t think Russ is a bad guy at all. Lacking some self awareness sure, a little sensitive maybe. He’s just like the worst fit of all time next to LeBron, and he’s overpaid for what he is now.

    I don't know what you consider a bad guy. Draymond-like teammates-hitter/coach-chocker/phone-recorder/wife-screwer?

If I were his teammate, he'd be on my hate list - for selfishness and dumb stabborness. There is Kobe stabborness and, let's admit it, justified selfishness (see Phil Handy quote on that one), which Kobe backed up time and time again, and then there is Russ.

I though Brick was a hard worker, you would think he would practice for hours trying to improve his outside shooting. He may be a hard worker, but not efficient enough to be able to show some improvement. Magic, Jason Kidd, Jordan are all examples of improving their game from shooting from the perimeter, this clown Russ has shown no improvement and seems content with his game and faults others for hindering his game, he helped get a championship coach fired. Being bad and having a bad attitude may be different, but the fans have shown their displeasure and Brick seems to me playing the victim. He also dresses like a clown in the post game show, get his out of here!
