I was listening to Pincus last night on the radio. He said the Lakers board had 1.) Towns 2.) Russell 3.)Okafor 4.) Kristaps. The interesting thing he said was that Kristaps was very close to 3 on the a Lakers board. He said he wouldn't have been surprised if the Lakers selected Kristaps over Okafor.

You know he's still alive, right?

That doesn't sound too surprising. Kristaps Porzingis looks like he can be a great player. We'll see how he does in the NBA.

You were right. He's definitely being over-analyzed. He dropped it on a table.

It's not just the tanking. He really doesn't have any closure. He knows that roster has two centers on it already. He knows he could be traded at any moment because they can't keep all three long term. So he's essentially a bargaining chip at the moment. That has to suck. A player of his caliber shouldn't be unsure of where he will be playing next season every day. He is a cornerstone type player. He should know where he will be playing for the next 4 years, at least. Instead, he probably is reluctant to even rent an apartment in Philly.

Nah he pulled it toward him and aimed at the floor. [IMG] But seriously if that had been Lakers jersey doubt it would have been dropped like that as opposed to more careful set down. SG above hit it correctly, he's in total limbo now and probably not feeling like killing himself toward the workouts and team and all that. This is where we see how professional he's capable of being. I think he'll come around. Probably Embiid gets moved.

J.P. Tokoto seemed to make a similar movement but his jersey didn't fall all the way. I think Okafor accidentally missed the table? But his body language seem rather poor.

A part of me understands him, and he is young so...but another part of me is saying suck it up and be a professional already.

He's not in college anymore. They are about to back the Brinks up for him. He needs to put on a happy face and be a professional.

I disagree with you gents. There's no sense in pretending you're happy when you're not. Maybe he should work harder to be happy there, but life's to short to pretend. Let him get this out of his system. You've all pouted; it's f***ing natural when you're let down.

I agree. He's 19. I like what LTL said earlier; we're going to see how professional he is after he gets there and training camp starts up. It's easy to become less driven and motivated in Philly. That's a franchise going nowhere. WTS, I hope he does well, remains professional, and kills it in his rookie year...

He's paid to be a basketball player. Not an actor. Asking him to put a pretentious smile on his face is ridiculous.

So far he's saying the right things, and neither he nor his agent have asked for a trade.

We all love, by the way, that Kobe "keeps it real" when he's happy - and when he's unhappy.

We're kidding, the jersey landed on the table. It was the disdain with the way he seemed to drop it. Following the crushed look on his face with the announcement of Lakers' second pick.

Yeah, he was dejected and who can really blame him. I find Hinke's talk of hoarding players as "assets" pretty disgusting. They're people not chattel. I would be pissed to drop to the Sixers as well. That's straight up basketball purgatory. That franchise has become the scourge of the NBA. He should put on a happy face to be sentenced to four years of that? After being so stoked about the Lakers and giving our franchise so much praise? That sucks.

I feel bad for him, and honestly I'm not over the pick yet myself and I'm just a fan, not him. I don't want to keep rehashing this especially in Russell's thread. He did nothing wrong and I'm very happy for the kid. I hope he works out and turns into a great Laker. Just throwing my two cents in since everyone is talking about this here.
