I mean: are him and Schroder going to play with each other?

Lol. Just silly at this point. Whatever.

Only way he gets traded is if a team desperately needs to unload someone of significance and then buy him out.

Did you watch OKC everyday to see how they're minutes were distributed and how much they played together?

If so, do you have the plus minus of those units?

I think AR pays the price... If so... hope we trade him to Chicago, out of mercy.

Oh wow: please start Nunn and Reaves then.
Really helps the rotations if Brick comes off the bench.

I personally hope it's permanent. Nunn and Reaves/Walker at the 2.

Should be Nunn and Reaves starting, but it will probably be Nunn and Bev.

Westbrook off the bench just makes SO much sense on paper. Really the only way I can see this possibly work out.

I’m not sure if Russ actually buys in though.

This is the moment we've been waiting for. Now, keep him there.

having him control the ball and be free to be himself on the 2nd unit is probably the best call to make, and the ballsiest move. Kudos for Coach for being willing to ask RW to do it, and for being the guy that RW would be willing to listen to in order to make it happen.

    Come in
    Pump him up
Tell him you have big plans for him
    Tell him you need him
Recognize him as an all time great
Tell the media he has been fantastic
Tell the media he's a great teammate
Try him in the starting lineup
See the group be a difficult fit
Find a way to bring out the best of your All Star level player
Put a group around him that accentuates the positives and hides the negatives
Praise at every stage along the way

    Prosper

I'ma call that a "Slice of Ham"

If he does, it could transform the entire team quite honestly.

I think he will buy in. It’ll probably take awhile for him to get over being demoted but he gets more usage coming off the bench which will “let Russ be Russ”.

I don't get why Vogel couldn't do this....at least after several months of seeing how Westbrook didn't jive with the ist unit.

Credit to Big Ham, his first impressive move.

Ham’s situation and the discussions they had prior to offering and him accepting the job with regards to Russ in his 2nd year with the team vs Vogel’s position in Russ’s first year and AD and LeBron out so much were in NO way similar.

Vogel was micromanaged by higher ups. I don’t think he had the authority to do so even though he was the head coach.

Early in the summer there was a round of reporting that the Lakers have given Ham the ability to sit Russ if he needs to.

I thought there was a report that Vogel WAS given the authority to bench Russ, and was even urged to do so by others on the staff, but he decided to keep him in the starting lineup to avoid rocking the boat?

Am I misremembering and/or are we assuming that was damage control from the FO since they were getting grilled for micromanaging Vogel?
