If he gets a full contract and this ends up being our 14th official roster spot needed to complete a roster I’m gonna laugh my a** off. Aarron Larsuel will have been correct, the Lakers are not done, roster changes are coming. :speechless:

What does he have …. a peg leg or something that some just dismiss the thought of him ever being in any NBA rotation? Surely the guy can work with our staff and improve his defense to some reasonable level at 6’9” against other bench player matchups. The guy has an incredible stroke and gets his shot off so quickly. Give him a chance to see if he can shoot like that under the bright lights.

I can't imagine he won't eventually be a good role player. Maybe sooner than later.

If this kid can knock down shots in the preseason, we are going to find minutes for him.

He struggles against more athletic players.

Seen it in SL with my own eyes, but I doubt most people didn't watch except highlights

yeah, i watched those games and came away dubious that he's going to be a regular rotation nba player at any point. people (including him) say duncan robinson, but a) robinson is/was much more mobile and b) robinson was demoted and is one of the league's worst contracts right now.

i hope i'm wrong, but he's just so slow. it's hard to play in the nba that way unless you're huge.

Some of being slow is having to think too much, maybe he can overcome some of it with familiarization, some can be overcome with a high basketball IQ. Not sure he has that are not. Definitely a question mark but with that shooting touch I'm giving him every chance I can. Coach Ham's defense first philosophy will make him work for it.

He does have quick release and he's obviously a good shooter. But in order to find a role for yourself when you're primarily a shooter is to either be a solid to great scorer (which he's not) or a defender, becoming a 3 & D guy. And he seems a bit slow to deal with all these motion offenses as a defender. But who knows... he does have the size, which helps. We could find some minutes for a guy like Swider, if he can get in off the bench and be 'Melo without hurting us too much on D.

Can't they get all Nike high tech with him and strap on bungie thingys and parachutes and s*** to give him some more quickness? Joking but serious. There has to be a way to increase quickness at least some small bit and help to try to get him into bench rotations.

IDK..if we thought Marc Gasol old butt could still make it up and down the court. Why not Cole? I still think he's slightly more athletic than Melo!
