Yeah he posted our pick as it was ready to be announced. He was always a pick or two ahead for the other teams.

That was, wow. Some of those look like standard passes, and a few are, but a lot of those are nuts. Even the standard looking ones, he whips the ball to his man at the 3 point line so fast that it gives the guy all kinds of time to shoot. And half the time he's not looking at them and telegraphing the pass. Same for his passes into the post, he was looking at perimeter guys so often when he fed the post that I was fooled even seeing the entire court. I'm following the ball expecting it to go to a shooter and it somehow ends up in a guys hands under the rim. He also seems to have pretty large hands and be able to palm the ball easily and make one handed passes no problem. I did not see a whole lot of Russell this college season, so that video was very eye-opening. If he can translate half that passing game to the NBA he's already got a big thing going for him.

An underrated aspect. According to NBAdraft.net Russell has a hand length of 8.75 inches and a hand width of 9.75 inches.

    By comparison:
    Justin Anderson 8.5/9.5
    Cauley-Stein 9.5/9.0
    Dekker 8.5/9.25
    Hollis-Jefferson 8.75/9.75
    Stanley Johnson 9/9
    Kawhi Leonard 9.8/11.3

Leonard had the largest hands of anyone at the 2011 draft for comparisons sake. I'd say Okafor's hands are in Leonard's range (I can't find their official listed size). Still though his hands are roughly the size of most Small Forwards.

It's a 13 minute video. Just shows Russell last time he came out into Los Angeles to receive the Jerry West award.

^^^ Left out, just after that, Okafor huddled in a dark corner in one of those hallways in the arena, rocking back and forth crying. Poor kid.

I felt just awful for Jah. His look said it all. He was crushed. I would have been too. Philly sucks. He wanted to be a Laker so badly.

Another thing from that video, he's hitting guys right where he needs to for them to be in the best position to finish. On the break it's in stride where they get the ball and take 2 steps without slowing and finish, or go right up and finish. At the 3 point line when stationary it's right on target where they can either go straight into their shot motion. Or, on the break it's right in motion where they take a step or 2, come to a stop and fire, never really breaking their rhythm. Obviously this is the highlight reel so these are the best passes and he's not right on target every time, but he clearly seems to know right where to put the pass to give his man the best chance to finish or get the shot off in rhythm, without having to stop, readjust and then go up.

After watching all the videos, he looks like some strange rookie Steph/Ginobili hybrid. Which is great, don't get me wrong.

I'm with you on this, but I think we're going to see Russell and Clarkson both score and hand assists. I could see both of them with 15 points and 5 assists as early as this season.

Upshaw's hands are 10x11, I think. Okafor's are probably there or larger.

    His bounce passes are pretty.
    His ball fakes are awesome.
    He'll spoonfeed our bigs.
His teammates will not always be ready for his passes.

Man I could just be reading the signals and facial expression wrong, but Okafor looks pissed there. I know it sucks, but he's gotta be a pro about that and go out there and play as hard as he would have for any team he really wanted to go to. He can sign somewhere else in 4 or 5 years if they still suck, and they're so stupid they could always trade him before that for more draft picks too.

I absolutely love that. Cannot love that loop enough. Maybe the Sixers will see this more often and maybe, JUST MAYBE, stop trying to game the system.

Oh, who am I kidding, as long as the CBA is set up so as to reward failure, (and lets face it, the CBA is decided on by the owners of 29 losers and one winner each year, so yeah, I think the CBA will always favor losers) philly will keep doing what they're doing.

I feel bad for Jah too, but honesty after I settled into picking Russell, I realized it was all on him to make the Lakers take him. If he showed up and killed it that second workout, he would probably be a Laker right now.

I don't know if he just had a bad day, or wasn't giving it his all, but either way, he lost out on becoming a Laker because he didn't perform in the minute.

Yeah; it's Philly that is to blame. It's a great city, there are actual seasons, and there is a history in sports - so just stop the tanking and people will not think of it as a prison sentence. I feel for Okafor, and it's all Philly's fault.
