it is that, for sure. problem is i can do it for most star players, including our other one.

"y u no giannis/jokic/luka" is kind of a weak argument.

i'm sure he'll try not to have a dude roll up on his leg again because of that video game insult. without the video game insult, he'd definitely just invite guys to crash into his legs at odd angles in unexpected ways.

 

Probably will stop jumping this year since too lazy to do the exercises that prevent rolled ankles.

 

if he doesn't move at all, he can be available at all times. he can also just james harden/last year lebron it and not play defense, which will save lots of wear and tear. on offense, he can not try to catch lobs (how he got injured another time) and instead set up shop from three (again, like the ever-available james harden).

anyway, i'm joking, but what makes AD special is what makes him get hurt a lot. folks are going to have to just deal with it. zion williamson is an extreme case of this, but most large athletic players have been this way throughout nba history. the few exceptions (chamberlain, karl malone, lebron until recently) prove the rule.

i just find it weird and annoying that AD is the only guy taken to task by fans (including his own) and (especially) the media.

joel embiid has missed half his career to date and has never played more than 68 games in a season, generally missing between 20 and 30 each year (when you're being generous and not counting the full seasons missed). everybody knows this, but he's not the butt of jokes or the object of scorn.

 

“Fans” in LA are doing their damndest to make sure he looks elsewhere in next free agency.
