The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Lebron respects Pat Bev. Say what you want about his antics, but having someone like Bev hold Lebron (and the entire team) accountable in terms of effort and defense is what we were lacking last year. Even aside from on court production, I think he’ll be a good addition to Darvin Ham’s locker room.
This will by my only post in this thread, first time in my life im ashamed to be a Lakers fan. What's next? Austin for Muscala? Rob has to go and Jeanie needs to sell the team, i'm beyond done. As for the "dumpster living guy", f*** him and his "basketball skills". SMFH
for my first time I literally "ughed" a player coming. I do not like this dude at all. It'll take some time to digest him on our team. That being said, like I always say, if they in the P&G Im going to support them and hope they bring it every night. Right now all I got is "ugh"
he's a good defender and can shoot the 3. don't mind him on the team at all, just not happy at what they gave up for him
Pat Beverley will embrace Russ. Because Pat goes to war with every team mate of his. I don’t know whether Russ will do the same back though, Russ is a bit of a paranoid emo, who mopes and holds grudges. We needed someone like PB badly last year to hold is accountable. Hopefully he gets on Lebron and AD.
Don't understand all the drama, if the following trades suck then by all means go at Rob but dang, you gotta give it time. THT was doing nothing for us I hate Bev too but he is a better piece than THT or Johnson and might fit out needs better.
I'm starting to actually dislike our team, that's a first for me. If they decide to add Schroder, I may actually lose interest in the Lakers.
I think most of us that have not liked Beverly will change our minds after he adds that energy to our team. He will make us better and Ham wants a defensive team first. The last few years I have learned to stomach players on our team that I never thought I would. Moves us closer to a championship in a win now mode.
i complained about the trade (it's a bad one, imo, in terms of big picture stuff) in the other thread, so i'll be more positive here. beverley was clearly a huge reason the wolves were a playoff team last year, and as others have pointed out, we employed exactly zero players who could basically shame their teammates into playing with effort. now we have one. he's been one of my very least favorite nba players for nearly a decade now, but i had already warmed to acquiring him. i just thought it would come as part of a larger russ deal and not at the expense of our only prospect with any real upside (i love reaves more than is rational, but he's nearly fully-formed, tbh). beverley will probably be more useful to us next year than THT+stan.
Haven’t posted in a while but had to when I saw this move. I was vocal last year about adding Westbrick. Didn’t like the move at all. I felt that he was past his prime and wasn’t going to do jack. I feel the same way about this move. Someone posted that Bev can shoot the 3, he won’t with us.
A player with his mindset was sorely missed during games. Yes THT has a lot of potential but it was not going to be realized here enough in the short term to make this all work on the Bron timeline. The real crime here is letting Caurso go for him. Stanley Johnson is a solid bottom of the roster player, but because of our situation last year it seems like a bigger loss. Need to see the rest of the roster built out because there is surely more moves coming.
Well, Pat Bev is probably our best guard and the third best player on the team right now. So I guess there's that.
I like it. At least a player who gives a s**t about going all out. Don't dig Johnson being shipped out but whatever.
