I mean I don’t love the number, crazy high for a 39 and 40 year old in years 21 and 22 I think, but it’s pretty much equivalent to what they gave Kobe and he wasn’t even the same player anymore, so I get it. At least we’re committed to the LeBron/AD thing I guess, and the option is there to trade them if things don’t work out and they want out.

Good discussion about what this allows us to do now, in theory

But Lebron is about Lebron, so he’ll end up getting 50 mil a year with the new cap coming at an age he’ll not be close to worth it.

but the Lakers will sell tickets, they will have him on the team as he sets the all-time scoring record, they will enhance their brand reputation for taking care of their major stars, etc

I don’t like it, but I begrudgingly get it

Damn .... still with the better than the rest of you attitude? "spamming, debate, and whatever otherwise went on while I avoided and will continue to .... "? You avoided LG too and have LOL'd at them? Am sure it was talked about there too? It's the off season and we're dead in the trade water for over a month.

And your counter move to LeBron being here after next year that "had us in the running for a chip" with LeBron leaving, and if so, AD probably in his opt out year too , would have been what exactly? That would have brought in upper echelon stars to replace them, that have won and know how to win in the playoffs? Considering they're all locked or locking into long term contracts?

LeBron at the least is still one of the top 10 players in the league and can recruit like a mutha and pull ring chasers. All with the caveat we have decent health this season, same with any other team with their superstars.

LeBron's way more worth that salary than Dame at 60M for 2 years for some perspective here?

I love this move it’s a no brainer LeBron is still a top 5 player in this league he had close to no help last year because of AD’s injury situation and Westbrook’s struggles. The difference with LeBron and Kobe as much as I love Kobe when we gave him that massive extension he was coming off a brutal Achilles injury. LeBron is still playing at an elite level and this pretty much guarantees he will finish his career with us.

Glad Lebron signed an extension. Now let’s get some players for Russ and THT.

Yeah, the spamming is just by 1 person in particular. That gets annoying.

As far as the debate: as well articulated as you guys are in bringing up different scenarios and information to the forefront, I just can't handle the same things that are constantly regurgitated including by myself.

I need a break from it. It's not a knock against you or anybody else on here on the site, and I apologize if you are anybody took offense to that post in particular.

Have a great rest of your week.

I don't mind this move as much with Ham being our coach. He is in a better position to not let the players walk all over him. Financially it is a move I guess they had to make. With Ham in his ear Lebron can get back to being a top ten player if he stays healthy. Offensively he is probably top five but just for my personal rankings a guy has to put out something on the defensive end before I can put him top ten. I believe that Lebron had his ego bruised last season and will come out with something to prove. I want to be able to cheer for this guy. Two things would help. Playing some defense and for him to stop making bold proclamations that don't pan out and let his play talk. Looking into my crystal ball I see him having a monster year and us winning it all. There are a bunch of good teams but no great ones. The Warriors don't really insight fear and the Clippers can't get out of their own way. With a motivated Lebron and AD we have a one two punch no team can match. Ham's system will take us to the next level.

The primary complication for James is he wanted us to trade for Westbrook last year. Now we have to clean up his mess by giving away more assets for a flat earther.

    It takes two to tango.

Can't fault Rob if Brooklyn doesn't want to deal.

With respect to the two picks, I'm not fan of it, but in that scenario, they have to get more back than Irving.

And people STILL don’t understand why he’s not adored by all the Laker Faithful?
“Dad, I just totaled your Camry. Now hurry up and replace it with a 911, so I can drive around in it and look good again to all the little people!”
