You know I've watched some terrible injuries over the years -- Josh Howard's knee, Livingston's knee, PG's leg, Bogut's elbow, Allan Ray's eye, and then there's Kendrick Nunn's bone bruise. Just makes you sick to your stomach to watch. They need to make a Hallmark movie over the simple fact that he's still able to walk and tie his own shoes.
Pretty incredible that Kobe tore his Achilles and recovered and got back on the court before Nunn’s bone bruise.
This is such a strange sentiment. You guys don’t think he would play if he could? His next contract depends on it or otherwise he is out of the league. It’s labelled a bone bruise, but injuries by nature are all different. Clearly the bone bruise is closer to micro fractures in the bone and they aren’t healing because of a lack of blood flow to the region. There’s no way we could of know or Miami for that matter. I imagine the only reason he isn’t doing 5 on 5 is because the training camp hasn’t started yet and he’ll ramp up slowly.
Yeah, we're more than one month off training camp no? There's plenty of time and wouldn't make sense to risk it at this stage, he had no basketball activity for over a year so I'll not over read it
i agree that there's no way miami knew about this, and the riley 3d chess stuff is garbage. nunn was largely healthy there and didn't have this particular issue. and i posted earlier that it's possible they're just being cautious, but that if you're still that cautious 10 months out, that's a concern.
There was this worry with how Pat Riley handled him. The worry was, if Riley noticed he wasn't good enough to keep, what's the issue with him? We are getting that answer now. I would package him for something at this point. Not worth worrying about anymore.
right. i fail to see how this is evidence of riley's brilliant foresight. had nunn stunk it up, then maybe it was about riley knowing something. but a bizarre injury totally unrelated to his (relatively few) other injuries? nope.
I think everyone is just in the mood for some good news, and the reality is Nunn is low hanging fruit to pick on since he's the poster child of everything that could have and did go wrong last season.
Saying you’d package him because he isn’t worth worrying about is silly, because he can be a real contributor.
If he's healthy, he's a lock in the closing lineup. And our 3rd best player. That's how good he is in this roster
