You got it confused dude. You obviously care more about Westbrook than I do. I don't think the MVP Westbrook saves that bunch last season. So continuing to harp nonstop, on what Westbrook did or didn't do, like it was the biggest issue of the season, is irrelevant chatter IMO. It's amusing and kills time so I have no problem participating in the conversation. James and Davis the heroes or the goats..that's the real story. We've had two years of the latter. I do understand...It's the Westbrook thread tho.. hell all the action on this board is over here anyway. This thread is frigging 251 pages long!!!

Bingo….you absolve Westbrook of all most everything. Your complaints are that he missed layups, free throw % and turnovers. Westbrook half a**ed his efforts almost all season. LeBron and AD half a**ed things too but no where on the scale of Russ. I’m not excusing their efforts and laid into both Bron and AD on many occasions in the game thread. Many other members have done the same thing. That DOES NOT excuse what Russ did on the court in anyway. His BB IQ is on the level with a pet rock. Neither Bron or AD are on “pet rock” level, so there’s no correlation there. I could go on but I’m not about to waste my time on this. Bron and AD playing only 21 games didn’t make Westbrook suck. He sucked all on his own. He will be inducted into the Laker Hall of Shame.

The MVP WB? Oh, he carries that to a play-in game.

    He was that good, IMO.

He took a bunch of guys I don't even remember to the 8th seed the MVP year.

Maybe maybe not on the last part. I don't think the people that run this team agree with your assessment either. Now back to me..yes I thought he missed too many chip shots, had too many bad turnovers especially early in the season. Missed too many FT. That's poor point guard play IMO. I pointed that out repeatedly. The defense blah, blah..attitude stuff. No..the whole damn team didn't try to hard on defense IMO. The roster sucked, the HC didn't have a clue if Lebron and AD didn't play. A whole lot of stuff was going on with that team. Russ just got most of the blowback.

These guys were terrible. I fell for the okie doke and kinda believed it was workable. They weren't as good as the Wizards team he left. Monk and Reaves were bright spots..I probably overrated Stanley because he at least tried. Frank didn't have a clue. We might have made the playin, Russ was strong on all fronts that year. We get bounced again in the first round because Lebron and AD were still gimpy.

    Yeah, roster sucked.

We need 1 more knocked down shooter next to Russ if he's back.

That and hoping Austin and another guy take a leap (thinking Stanley).

If Kendrick stays and his healthy, he helps.

Swider might get some time if his shooting translates.

I'll take that scenario. I don't know what we are going to do with Talen either. I thought Rob did a pretty good job in FA. The Walker signing is questionable but it might work out. Young guys at least stay hungry and bring energy, effort and some athleticism. A healthy, engaged, Lebron, AD, Russ and Nunn all need to ball out. If the kids play well, we'll be in the hunt. We won't be an easy out by any stretch, in any round.

Now If we swapped Russ for Kyrie and Curry and maybe Talen for something decent. That's Title favorite caliber to me.

Yeah, I'm glad we got younger. So glad.

If Ham wants to play faster, we have athletes now.

It will be so much more fun to watch. We should be a nightmare to guard in transition.

We got better IMO..I just feel like Darvin brings the right type of energy that we needed. Hopefully at least one, preferably two of these kids play above expectations like Austin and Malik did last season. If Reaves and Stanley improve their jumpers, it makes things even more promising. Thomas was looking pretty decent in Washington before he got injured. I'm ready for camp to start. This has been a long offseason already.

    I like Ham a lot.

I think he's the right guy right now. I think he'll install modern basketball concepts offensively and be a little more diverse defensively with scheme and such, IMO.

I love his enthusiasm and judging from some of the stuff we seen in SL, I think the offense will be much better.

Let's see how the roster finishes up.

I watched 6 years of Lakers futility and as much as I don't like WB, this will be a cake walk if he is on or off the roster.

I overrated some of the guys on last years team before the season started. I thought Bazemore would of been an ok 3&D and Ellington would knock shots down. It’s shocking how the majority of that team is now out of the league basically.

So I agree we’ve improved with the young guys and agree that we’ll be much better in transition and hopefully on D. Would of liked to have done something else with the MLE, but I’ve harped on enough about that already.

Ellington actually shot 39% from three which is above his career average. He just too one dimensional and could not be hidden on D.

LOL..Jovan Buha used to be the Clippers guy..now he's the Lakers guy at the the Athletic. I'd mark down every thing he says..90 percent of it will turn out to be BS.

I haven't heard this much media coverage labeled fake since a certain someone was in political office. Are there any reporters that you do trust or believe?

The initial defense by Lebron is good. It resulted in a contested off balance long 2 that should have easily been rebounded if the two slugs (Russ and Melo) finished the possession.

On the other end Lebron quit and got frustrated once Russ’s pass got picked off. He routinely never got back on defense in transition after mistakes. It’ll be interesting to see if Ham can fix that. That’s Lebron’s biggest problem. Transition D after a teammates mistake and closing out to shooters. His actual on ball D is still good.

He clearly lost faith in Russ early on and knew that season was lost. He unfortunately only buys in if he believes there is a chance of winning a championship.

I'm pretty skeptical of a 28 year old kid that covered the Clippers, all of sudden having all these insider connections with the Lakers now. It's a crapshoot with these media guys IMO. I honestly can't say that I have a set in stone , go to source. I do think that Shams and Woj, get pretty solid info from GMs, about things imminent or recently announced. Haynes seems to be a bit plugged in on some things. Woj tends to speculate more than the other two, but he's not accurate a lot of times in that regard. I read everything from anybody though, I probably browse 15-20 sites, feeds, Twitter accounts everyday.I take it all with a grain of salt..so much turns out to be just speculation or leaked pr angles. It's a lot of guys writing out there now, they all have to eat. I'd hate to call anyone a flat out liar, but if everything is always from unamed sources, I 'll just consider it to be "speculation " on that guy's part. Like I said..mark it down..time will reveal which cats are more reliable than others.
