I think this gets resolved when training camp starts. Either he's there and ready or if he isn't, don't see us counting with him.

The fact we didn't sign a similar guard indicates that we are either confident he'll play or we know we won't and will trade him before training camp starts.

So in the end, it's just a matter of waiting a couple months

I’m not implying he faked an injury. I’m saying don’t get on Twitter and say “I hear the noise. Just keep that same energy.” Don’t talk trash if you haven’t even played in a year. That’s like talking crap from the bench when you’re injured. Plus bone bruises don’t take a year to heal. It’s not like our training staff ran him into the ground. I can recall two times that he tried to ramp up activity and had swelling and stopped. That’s a long rest period. We weren’t making him play injured.

It doesn’t sound like he’s talking trash, it sounds like he’s defending himself from the massive amount of trash talk that comes his way from Laker fans.

You say you’re not implying he faked the injury, but then you keep bringing up the abnormally long time it’s taken him to recover.

Why do you think it’s taken him a year to recover?

I think it’s because it’s just a bizarre injury and the ramifications of a bone bruise can sometimes be more complex than most of us realize. Just an unfortunate situation all around.

You seem to be suggesting the reason is something worth being more critical towards Nunn about.

i won't speak for cookie, but i'll reiterate that the absolute lack of information from either nunn or the organization about one of the weirdest injuries ever is baffling. one-line cryptic twitter shots are less effective/endearing than saying "hey, i wish i was playing, too".

I think we’re being too sensitive if we’re nitpicking how endearingly he worded his tweet.

Come on, this is such a generic thing to say that it’s completely innocent. I wouldn’t consider this a “cryptic shot” worth getting upset at Nunn about

I kinda get the feeling there would be less vitriol going Nunn’s way from Laker fans if he wasn’t associated with Klutch.

It has nothing to do with Klutch though, we are all mystified as to why a young player would miss an entire NBA season with a bone bruise especially since we were told he was returning in January only to hear nothing about his progress since then. It’s confounding. I’ve never seen or heard of anything like this. Not a word on him!

again: i wouldn't have to be parsing tweets if any information whatsoever was provided at any time.

as far as the suggestion that he doesn't have to endear himself to fans, fine. he doesn't. but there's real estate between detachment and antagonism.

i think the "me against the world" mentality isn't helpful in most contexts, but it's a favorite among athletes, for whatever reason.

I'm just hoping for a full return to action for Kendrick this season. We've made changes to the training staff 3 seasons in a row now. There seems to be a fair amount of smoke
Yep microfracture surgery is also a real procedure. And yes a bone bruise is considered to be a microfracture.

I agree that the duration of the injury has been mysterious, and the lack of communication is annoying.

But isn’t it usually on the team/training staff to provide official updates on injuries? The burden doesn’t usually fall on the player to have to update the fans (especially if the team may have strategic considerations for if/when/how the injury details are revealed, ie trade negotiations)

So again, I just don’t see why so many people are taking out their frustration about the injury and the way it’s been communicated on Nunn himself. I think it’s a big reach to call his tweets antagonistic towards the fans.

almost nobody said anything about nunn here until the tweets. again, the point is that not tweeting is fine. but if you're going to tweet about it, there are better ways.

LeBron said I believe the same exact tweet wording about keep that same energy, when we signed all the old guys last season and sports writers were saying that we were a very old team. Bron got push back from fans and sports people at the time for saying the same thing. It’s not all about attacking Nunn.

Missing Nunn last year was big for us. He would of been one of the top 5 players on the team

    i like it.

i do have one question about this (and other related videos): the guys with the bats--do they ever block a shot? it looks like they're just sort of shadowing his motion instead of trying to actually get a piece of the ball. i realize that they're not going to put that in the highlight montage, but if one of the bat guys never actually blocks you, then the exercise may not be very useful.
