It’s true though. Kid’s first thought are BRICKS, like every one’s first thing that comes to mind with Westbrick is bricks then turnovers then bricks, who am I kidding it’s all BRICKS:LLLLLebronlaughing:

KD saw ALL of this about Brick when they were both in their prime and had to get away from him.

i actually think russ was worth the fuss during his prime (harden was the one who s*** the bed in the finals vs miami, for those still keeping score). he's just iverson-ed out now. he won't play the role he can, and so he's worth less than nothing. but at the height of his powers, i think he could have been a top guy on a championship team. force of nature. lebron-type athlete, which is a wilt-type athlete, imo.

edit: this is why the russ rhetoric in the press is very telling to me--it's all about disrespect for what he's done, not what he's currently doing.

i agree that it sucks people think his whole career was junk because of the last three years. he's a first ballot hofer, as his former agent said. but it's 2022 now, and we've gotta move forward, with or without his stamp of approval.

What were their three stat lines in the Miami series if you have easy way to post here? Am on a phone and your post made an interesting point. I know of course he used to be a force of nature but still had the impression he might have taken the ill timed shots that missed at key times which KD felt he was always going to do.

it's more than stats, but westbrook wasn't okc's problem in that series. really, lebron was their problem. but their in-house problem was harden not being ready for the moment and/or being drunk.

I remember thinking at the time how odd it was
Harden disappeared so badly after doing so well against San Antonio. Little did we know that this disappearing act would repeat in the big moments again and again in the years to come.

Welp that may be but what I thought I remembered seems borne out with regards to Westbrook and Duran. KD’s shooting 55% and Russ took 16 more shots than him, throwing up bricks from 3 with 22 shots there making 3 for .131 and .43 overall shooting. LMAO though about Harden and Perk’s comments about him and the stats in cities where there’s nightlife and strip clubs.

russ was the third best player in that series, better than wade or bosh was for miami.

lebron was better than all of them, harden was junk relative to expectations, and miami won easily.

Since we're discussing Haren - would you guys trade Russ for him, if such a trade were on the table? He's probably the only "star" I would still prefer Westbrick over.

I’d rather have Russ in his contract/last chance to save anything of his career year over that guy and that stooooopid, fugly beard and disgusting game always cheating and trying to con the refs.

harden and morey are a match made in heaven.

i will say that as much as i can't stand harden, him taking a paycut so that philly could field a contender/sign his bff was pretty great for them.

wish russ would have done that here.

    yeah.

    whoa.

i'm still putting the "pay him to stay home" option as a distant last resort. to me, you walk into the season and let ham handle russ as he wants. if russ bucks or sucks, he's benched. if he can't be effective there, then you send him home and keep him in your pocket for a deadline deal should it materialize.

by now, russ and lebron and ham and pelinka all need to see that they may have to give it one more (hopefully better) shot before anything can change in the way everyone wants. russ may be stubborn and deny a lot of reality, but he has to know nobody wants him.

    right?

LeBron’s part of the problem not playing along with the running it back one more time “company line” (Ham not included) and Russ knows it and hates him for turning on him when HE was the one who “sacrificed” everything of his game to play with the Lakers. In his myopic self unaware brain.

I honestly don't think he does. I completely agree with this article. I get no sense from Russ that he is aware of what's happening and that's why I've gone pretty firmly into the column of "we've got to trade him" despite concerns about our options.

Firing one of a handful of people who was trying to give him honest feedback tells me all I need to know. He's already pushing back on Ham's advice and we haven't even had a practice yet. He is who he is and I just don't think we can have him around.
