Pop would put a bullet through the roof of his mouth over that one after his cries and whining get ignored as per the usual.

Where’s Chris Broussard when you need him?

As flawed as Kyrie is, and as much as I’m over trying to continue to build a “big three” by adding Beal, ending up with Hayward and Rozier will be underwhelming.

I don’t know, it’s not like our two Franchise players have been the poster boys of health lately. Also, LeBron is really close to 40 years old. Now, let’s go back in a time machine and pretend a trade of Trez, Kuz, and KCP for Beal was going to go down, just a month after we won it all in the Bubble, then yeah, I could see Jealous Pop going nuclear.
Even if we somehow add Beal or Kyrie, we will still have an extremely top heavy team with no depth.

Anything to me is an upgrade over Westbrook. It all depends on if/how many pics we part with. If teams demand pics I'd keep Westbrook until the deadline when his contract will have the most value.

That’s the rub- I think we will have to give up BOTH of those firsts to swap Russ with an impact player who doesn’t come with extensive injury baggage or a bad contract.

Not if we get KCP and Kuzma back TOO and keep Reaves and Johnson and Gabriel and whatever else we come up with. But this can’t be happening.

I agree at the moment. Things will get better for us closer to the deadline though.

Westbrook is going to be more attractive as the season moves along than most Lakers fans think.

Hope that “contract year / future in the NBA” effect is real and Ham is a Russ whisperer / freaking miracle worker.

I understand this sentiment but I do think the bar was lowered so much last season that just getting some solid to good players that aren’t completely washed will be a significant upgrade.

not to me. had we moved kcp/trez/kuz for rozier/hayward instead of russ, i would have been ok with it.

rozier's a legit starter at guard--particularly if lebron's on the floor, and half a season of hayward is better than a full season of russ at this point.

Is Russ waiting on signing his Player Option for next Season until after the Draft, so the Lakers can't move him in a pre draft trade..?
Deadline to accept his Player option is 6/29... Draft Day is 6/23.

i think everyone assumes he's opting in. i said earlier the only sensible delay is if we're talking about an extension to lower his cap figure and help us shore up the roster. that could/should only happen after we've explored every opportunity to move him, though.
