I agree Time, but I would like to add that Russ had a bit of luck in slashing under MDA in Houston. He got a lot of back door layups that way.

After further investigation into my rudimentary X's and O's knowledge, Russ can't shoot which is one of the things you need to do in the dunker spot role.

He may not even be good at that or anything.

    He just sucks.

Another spot on the bench opens up. Kidd took another one (Dudz being the other).

If we get Jent, that's 3 development coaches (Ham, Handy, Jent). If he can get AD shooting better and Sheed can impart some toughness, I'm all for it. With Ham saying AD is the key, it makes sense that our coaching hires would be aimed to focus on him.

If we go that route, I would like an X&Os guy and/or someone who's been in the big chair again. Guessing Clifford is probably still that guy, but we'll see.

Ham was on the Rich Eisen show yesterday

    - more on his desire for us to focus on the defensive end
    - has been in consistent communication with Bron
    - has had dinners with both Russ and AD. 3 hour dinner with AD two nights ago.
    - addresses AD not touching a basketball since April
    - discusses Russ' role, how he will fit in and sacrifice
    - confirms he gets to pick his staff (discusses his friends and tree he comes from...he's close with Snyder and they talk multiple times a month, want to come be a lead assistant for a year?)
    - sounds like Rambis will not be in any coach meetings but it's an open door policy and will gladly address anything 1-1 vs. them listening in on a meeting.
    - the Sheed rumor is brought up.

Most here were surprised when Borrego got let go. Seemed to be based on frustration from players over minutes (he’s a Pop guy and didn’t like playing yonger guys / rookies in certain situations). I’d be interested in seeing the actual data but he was touted more for offense here than defense so he may be worth a look.

Shooting coach won't do s*** for us. Steph would dip below 30% if he was wearing P&G ;)
What i like though, is that Ham can pick his own guys, keep Kurt and the "team" as far from "helping" as possible.

i'm assuming it'd be jent if he gets the job based on his experience. no way sheed should be lead assistant and i don't think handy should either since he's more of a player development guy

feel like brett brown got a bit of a raw deal in philly. hard to overcome the intentional losing culture. maybe this would be a good way back in for him. he's part of that pop tree, too.

It’s gotta partly be that accent too right? Who could listen to that for hours, days, months, years on end? I’d eventually lose it and want to punch him. And if anyone here has that accent, I’m sorry… for you, it’s terrible, you should lose it, try to be British or something.
