Especially with how it sounds like there might not necessarily be defined roles with his assistants. Rather ones who will do it all, announcing them as a package makes a lot of sense. Very tough to do in today's leak twitterverse. Same with the Handy announcement.
Seems to be the case… although if this is all it was, it really doesn’t seem that bad. I haven’t heard any accounts that Penberthy was doing a great job, so it made sense to get rid of him regardless. And he probably shouldn’t have been responding to fans on DM at all. But what he said really wasn’t that bad at all. That DM in itself wouldn’t be a reason to fire him.
yeah that's literally nothing. i thought he was actually sh** talking players still don't mind him getting let go considering how bad they shot the ball in 20-21 and with the way AD's shooting has declined every year
thanks! that's basically what houston did to some degree. this is another situation where having AD may pay dividends, as if they opt to guard russ with a big, then if AD dives on the drive, you're stuck with AD with a head of steam and a lane and a guy smaller than him trying to cut it off.
Agree he should have been fired for the shooting performance of AD who brought him to the team alone. Not to mention the often general shooting suckage. But that was really a nothing burger. Talking about internal stuff publicly I guess.
I don't know if this has been posted. I'm not even sure how to post anything but here goes. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ba3LzwLeSYw
Right now it's all lip service. Core pieces just don't fit and we mostly have vet mins to fill out the roster.
It has to be better than last season...lol Why do you think it will be a disaster? Just curious. We do have some young guys that fit and possibly Nunn will be healthy.
Atkinson has been hired by Charlotte which leaves only Utah as the open head coach spot as of now right? There’s going to be a lot of good assistants left out there, I hope we can snag a few to join Ham and Handy.
I don’t know if it’s “awful”, but I have found it difficult to get overly impressed by Ham so far. A lot of platitudes and cliches. Most of the content of his interviews are all things that Vogel probably would (or already had) said. Playing together/competitive, being accountable, etc. But at the same time I can’t really hold that AGAINST Ham yet. Of course at this early juncture the only thing he CAN do is talk the talk. We’ll have to wait and see if he can walk the walk. Because yes while some of the points he’s emphasizing are cliche’s, if you have the personality and can command the respect of your players to actually have them buy into those concepts, that’s actually huge.
that's where i'm at. everyone can say what byron scott says. but can you get people to get on board? scott wasn't a leader. is ham? we'll find out pretty quickly, i think. but we can't know now.
