Do you really think LBJ has any business being mentioned as the best ever ? Hell no ! But since he won those titles he kept calling himself the “king” and media ran way with it trying desperately to put the pieces together ti some how connect LBJ in same breath as MJ/ KOBE ! even though he is not . They will do the same exact thing with Steph if he wins this yr .

I couldn't care less about Steph winning another wing. Nor do I care about narratives about who is better than who. Besides no one really thinks Steph is better than Kobe and if 1 or 2 think that so what. What SF residents think is irrelevant.

What I do care about is the evil empire, the team that cannot be named winning another ring. That's why I'm not watching. Watching the green scum hoist another ring is something I can't fathom or stomach.

GS, so what, they're not a rival.

The evil empire is tied with us for rings. That's what matters. Who cares about GS? I don't want the green scum one upping us in rings. That would be horrible.

To sum things up, I hate the evil empire and I hate the ghost of Red Aurbach. I hate the city of ******. I hate all ****** teams. I hate the color green.

you have it all backwards my friend!!! Nobody considers Boston the evil empire… they have been irrelevant for a decade . They sucked in the 90s … WE are the evil empire !!! Nobody considers Boston C Bags the evil empire but everybody considers LAKERS the evil empire!! We are the most hated franchise ( due to success) in all sports ! We are the Yankees and the cowboys of NBA !! Let that sink in … lol

As far as red Aurbach goes he is dead he is yesterdays news when PHIL JACKSON passed him … I couldn’t care less about the DEAD RED nor his ghosts nor that pole that he smokes after every win

I have relatives in SF , I spent fair amount of time up there, so yeah those punks get on my nerves alot .. My brother lives exact right cross st from AT&T park .. believe me when I tell u they will throw us into an on coming traffic if they could

@Johgnyb77, mind me asking how old you are? Meaning no offense by it whatsoever. Seeing if you fit window of the example I'm about to make...

So a week ago or so on the SS&R pod with Antony and Aaron they talked about this at great lengths and had people join the convo during their twitter spaces segment. It seems there's a lot (a surprising amount) of Laker fans under 30 much more concerned with Steph vs. Kobe than LA vs. Boston. There's several factors: 1) they missed out on much or all of the Lakers/ Boston rivalry and the one from the 80s was centuries ago as far as they're concerned. 2) they were in HS during the rise of Steph and the Warriors, if you live in Cali but not in LA, GS became a popular train to hop on and your school peers would talk s*** about how great GS is. 3) In today's age of social media, player is bigger than team. So that pushes fuel on the player vs. player angle and fear of Steph catching Kobe.

Personally I didn't realize that was even a thing until that pod. Oh yeah and Buck Foston!

Sure, they are not our rival GS , I agree ; but they act like they are , their base act like they are … it’s like dude leave us the f alone , we have no beef with gs but they always wanna start something, it’s all outta envy .

as far as Boston , F that city , F Danny Aint, F the luck of the Irish and F their racist fans .. but I do like the color of green .

I am 36… I remember Boston vs LA rivalry sure , but you know what ? I have a ton respect for Larry bird and Robert parish , I can’t really hate them just because of the rivalry .. but I am aware of we have bigger fish to fry with Boston than GS .. but ever since the “splash bros” came into the league and single handedly destroyed the NBA by jacking up ridiculous 3s from half court I started hating GS way more than Boston ..

now if you wanna discuss older C Bags teams before Larry bird then yeah I don’t remember

Yes, it was. We had 10 free throws as a TEAM, and he had 13. They had 38 free throws as a team, and we still only lost by 6. That was as rigged a game as I’ve ever seen, they were playing football and we were playing basketball.
