James and Davis are pretty damn good if both are healthy and available. You will probably be surprised what works if that's the case. Seriously though, I expect us to circle back to the Rockets on that Christian Wood deal. Dangling that newly acquired 2nd rd pick. We might even go lottery protected 1st down the road. if we get a 2nd rd pick coming with him. I think we are going to make a serious effort at a move for a big. It just won't be involving Westbrook before the trade deadline.

Team’s doing a solid job of selling the narrative that we will keep Russ.

His expiring deal has value and I’m glad we’re at least trying not to go out and get fleeced off by making a panic trade (like using picks to bring in John Wall).

I think there are moves that can help us out there and Rob can quiet doubters by navigating us through this.

I imagine his team is working behind the scenes figuring out who is interested. Just can’t imagine him wanting to stay out after his wife’s posts on social media or him complaining about his nickname.

Everytime I come to this thread, first thing that comes to my mind is doing what Sonny Black does in this scene in Donnie Brasco......

    Viewer discretion is advised.....

I 100% agree, but moving his contract just isn't that simple. Maybe at the trade deadline..? But it's better to see if a new system & new role can turn things around than to further handcuff the Franchise by giving away the few future picks we have left & most likely only getting marginal talent in return.. Just to unload Russ.

But, don't get me wrong.. I want Russ gone just as much as anyone.

Nah no worries. Slick has his black market obtained memory zapper to start us all fresh here with confidence. LOL. The Season of Brick according to Slick.

yeah, this is where i'm at. can't throw good money after bad. i'd rather sacrifice part of this year than kill any chance at improving for 2023 and beyond.

Ham should forbid him to shoot threes. Every 3 missed equals suicides for the team followed by a towel party for Russ.

Exactly that. Plus he had so many opportunities to be the GUY and go HAM Westbrook with the injuries to LeBron and AD keeping them out individually and together. And that did not improve his propensity for dumb, bad decisions and turnovers and missed layups and horrible shooting MOST of the season .... PLUS not giving a F*** and being clueless on defense ALL season long.

Can he be an effective SG in attack mode without the ball in his hands?

just doesn’t seem like it can work with Bron and Brook

Maybe if he wasn't stubborn and unwilling, dumb as a rock out there and could actually shoot?

No. He played like garbage anyway most of the time when given the chance multiple times and all season was horrid on defense. That’s supposed to absolve him?

The comment was in reference to the dude being trash. I said he had more success on whatever team he played on than the Lakers before the bubble. That is a fact. To your question...The Rockets ran into the Lakers in the second round. Washington was terrible, the guy lifted them to the playoffs, that's an accomplishment for them.

Meh, he won’t be back next season. And if he is at least we’ll know they threw in the towel before it all even started and I will know I don’t have to bother watching. If he stays poor coach Ham will be have an impossible task right out of the gate, the drama will only get worse between he and LeBron/AD, who I don’t recall sticking up for him last season at all, mainly just taking shots at him. But if we have to sacrifice a year to be able to truly improve next offseason, so be it I guess.

Didn't say that. I just asked a question. I don't think we can beat anybody without a healthy James and Davis on a consistent basis, and have absolutely no shot in a playoff series. Maybe if we can get the bubble level of availability from James and Davis next season, we can find out definitively if Westbrook is the problem.

Lol..the whole team was trash for most of last season. Same thing the year before without James and Davis playing.
