Stern definitely rewrote Laker history, our ring count, and how Kobe's career winds down. I don't see that pairing going their separate ways and if Kobe isn't having to do it all, he probably doesn't push himself to the point that his body breaks. Gotta love basketball reasons. Never forgive that a**hat for that.
Based on how game is called, I agree it's a 1 game'er. But I really wish they'd look at this during the next CBA. It's murky because it's hard to prove intent. But if you commit a "dirty" foul and injure that player in the process (looking at you Grayson Allen) then A) you miss as many games as they do. B) you play but lose game checks until they're back. Or C) your game checks go to a charity of the injured player's choice until they're back. Something stiffer than 1 game. It's not equal compensation when GS loses GP2 for 2 weeks minimum.
https://www.theringer.com/nba/2021/...t-quality-midrange-kevin-durant-brooklyn-nets came across this today, and i (and others) definitely predicted this a while back. essentially, it's talking about how just jacking a bunch of threes and never shooting midrange jumpers does not, in itself, make you a better offense (*cough*daryl morey*cough*). the claim here is that things caught up to the philosophy (everybody takes better shots now, so the variance has shrunk), but i'm not sure it was ever true in the playoffs, when teams were more focused and prepared to stop wide open threes and layups. the truth is that if you have good midrange shooters, they should shoot those shots. the issue has always been that you shouldn't have bad shooters shooting, period. and if you're a bad midrange shooter, you might as well chuck a three because it's worth so much more. and i can understand that part of the philosophy, but just making sure you take a lot of threes was always pretty thin as a strategy. watching the suns with paul and booker should drive this home for people. same with kawhi when he's going nova for the clippers. a midrange shot from them is as good or better than an open three for a role player in most circumstances. this was also true back when they slammed kobe for not passing to smush parker and stuff.
Oh I agree on how special he is. He’s a top 5 pg of all time. To me though, flopping and dirty play automatically disqualifies you from “deserving” to win. I don’t care how good you are, I never want to see that garbage rewarded.
amen. the worst. and he's on the hook for dwayne wade and james harden, too. latrell sprewell and joe johnson would have liked to have three refs in their back pocket every night, too.
nice to see it happen somewhere else, though. i'm still haunted by the fact that we ran horry out of town after a bad shooting performance in the playoffs and then he just picked up the big shot bob routine immediately to the tune of more rings.
We are wayyyy too close to a Chris Paul vs Boston C Bags Finals. I can hardly think of anything worse, there are no winners there, only misery. Go Bucks.
Mavs looking good after 1 vs the Suns, man I hope they can win this game and make this a for sure 6 game series. The more games the Suns have to play the more likely it is CP3 wears down. I couldn’t dislike this Suns team more if I tried, bunch of whiny floppers.
Another Paul choke job would be awesome. I don't think Luka has enough in the tank to win the whole series though. He plays with a bunch of scrubs.
