Vogel sucked and totally deserved to be let go.Lebron and AD playing 21 games together all season was the huge problem. SMH

A lot of guys are on expiring deals this season, I'm expecting a rather robust trade market coming up this campaign.
    https://www.spotrac.com/nba/free-agents/2023/

Zach Lavine is the headliner this summer, he says that his is open to exploring the market. The top 5 teams with cap space this summer are.. The Magic 29 million
Pistons 26 million, Pacers 24 million, Spurs 23 million, and Portland 18 million. I'm not sure if any of those teams are that attractive unless he's open to a trade somewhere. He is a Klutch client btw.

That would probably work for Westbrook, for us IDK. Giving up two 1st rd picks for some scraps and a 34 million dollar trade exemption is a risky move. Unless it netted a guy like Grant or Lavine...now that would be interesting to me. Now if we could also flip some of that, along with Tucker or Nunn for Wood. That would be a homerun because we could also lock up Malik. Rob would be the executive of the year if he pulled that one off.

Sure, I agree with all of that, but DLO doesn’t deserve another chance in the Purple and Gold. I’m tired of having guys on this team that are hard to root for.

I don't want to get rid of any more draft picks or take on bad contracts. I sure don't want anymore injury prone players. As optimistic as I want to be barring something not yet discussed or imagined we are not contenders. Doesn't mean we can't be good and develop players. Maybe surprise a few people. Sign a good young coach, Ham or Cassell, let Russ have the year off, and then reload. I had rather ride next year developing players than set us back for the next decade.

Wall makes no sense unless we are including THT for Wood as well. Swapping Wall and Russ alone does nothing for us.

Wood now I'm in on that scenario..I still don't want Wall. I can understand the Rockets wanting to swap Russ for Wall. They thought Russ was very professional during his stay there and some of that could be used in that locker room.

This is kinda sorta Russ related....

    https://www.nbaanalysis.net/2022/04...s-angeles-lakers-atlanta-hawks-kevin-huerter/

I like Huerter...If Russ can be moved in a three way deal...basically some else taking the Charlotte players or at least Hayward? IDK.. I saw something with Utah taking Hayward and Rozier and the Lakers getting Conley, O'Neal and Plumlee, with Nunn and a draft pick thrown in. I'm kinda meh on that one. Ultimately...Huerter, Conley, O'Neal and Plumlee for Russ, Nunn, Tucker, Reaves and a 1st round pick..Did we get any better?

Luka needs help. I wonder if Cuban would do Westbrook for Dinwiddie/Bertans/Bullock. Knowing Cuban, he would probably want a pick. Dinwiddie turned out to be not as good as advertised for them

Conley is done: he's a dead contract like Westbrook. No point in bringing him unless you're attaching real talent Huerter ain't enough

weird how russ is a negative asset (fine, i agree) but wall is somehow not. that's just plain ol' anti-laker bias in reporting. and sort of painfully obvious, tbh. these guys are viewed very similarly. if anything, at least russ has proven he can actually play basketball games.

that's clearly a fan piece, right? anyway, they want reaves and can start steppin with that stuff.

i'd definitely swap THT for huerter, though.

the mavs need a second star, but russ ain't it. HOWEVA: to get a second star, it might be helpful to get off some contracts first. i've floated thj/bertans for russ before, and i think dallas maybe gives up a protected pick in such a deal.

i don't think they're ready to move on from dinwiddie. he played well in the regular season for them, and he wasn't brought in to be a second star or anything. the only thing being exposed in that series is that the suns have a better roster than pretty much everyone and when chris paul is healthy and locked in, he's the league mvp.

what does "done" mean in this context? i think we win a few more games this year if conley's our pg instead of russ. truly. he's not performing near his career peaks, but he's also nowhere near his troughs. he quietly played the last two years about like he did when he earned one of his max contracts.

the wheels are bound to fall all the way off conley soon, but if not, he'd be a big upgrade, imo. and him simply not playing isn't much worse than what we got out of russ, tbh.
