he's not wrong about a shred of it. cousins had his own issues (he got in his own way a lot), but sac is a just a pit of a franchise. they need to sell them and move them to cleanse the spirits. but cwebb was the best king. cousins is right that he and malone (who definitely did NOT deserve to be fired there) might have been enough to win some games and put him in the conversation. but webber was very cousins-ish (HOF talent, couldn't get his mind right), and then got it together in time to be part of some really special teams (who just happened to run into shaq/kobe). tldr: let's bring cousins (backup c) and malone (assistant coach to lebron's flunkie former player) to la next year.
I'm still not sure why we haven't tried to bring him back. All accounts were that it was a brief, pleasant experience for both sides. He's still AD's guy. Maybe I'm just confused at the concessions we are and aren't willing to make for Bron and AD. We will let them get Russ. Won't let them keep Dudz. Will let AD bring on Penberthy which cost us other assistants. But won't bring back Boogie. Maybe getting coach Rondo in the fold would swing it back enough to bring Boogie back. And to Boogie's larger point in that interview: Kings are trash. They've been trash since we clipped their wings. The number of coaches, GMs, and owners they've sprinted through with awful results is truly remarkable.
i said each of the past two years that i wanted boogie back and that i thought we had good will there. whatever. like marc gasol, he's better than any other center we've employed in that period. watch us sign him next year and he sucks and i look dumb. to your other point--sac was maybe even worse prior to the adelman glory days than they were after them. i think one thing i appreciate more and more over time is quality ownership/organizational management.
