*retirement. At least he got to finish his career as a Laker. Still can't get over the fact that he was penciled in as a starter before the season.
lol, i remember when we signed him, and i was like: wait, isn't he basketball dead? and people were like, no, he was pretty good last year. and i looked it up, and he sort of was ok. so i was like: alright, maybe he'll give us 15-20mpg off the bench. and then the team was like: he's our starter and the linchpin to our team identity for the year.
Yeah, I thought he could've been a potential low minute playoff starter if we managed his minutes because the pace slows. But he was our only answer to wing size and wing defense. I would think that's bold if we are talking prime Ariza. I thought he was good in his MIA role and played space and positions on the floor well, but I don't know how you see that and think he can be the master key to the whole puzzle. And then when he was hurt, it was wait till Ariza gets back. I would've liked to see how much of his derailment was the foot and recovery vs. just being cooked.
Trev’s contract would have been fine as a guy who comes in and plays spot minutes or a good locker room influence but as our main starter….big bust.
He was damaged goods when we signed him. Needed surgery and recovery time as an old player. Horrible decision. Hopefully we quit making those types of decisions. So pointless. Hoping he was coming back to save our defense was pretty pathetic.
There's only two people who said he was done on the first page. But everybody mostly said he'd be a low minutes players. He wasn't even that...
I don't know that anyone thought he needed surgery. I could be wrong on the timeline, but he got examined and chose surgery after he was signed. Not sure of the circumstances, but this is the stuff you hope the pre-contract physical catches. This was a total whiff.
