I've been defending because he was put in a terrible context. And the way he have been playing Reaves, Stanley and Gabriel shows how little he contributed to this dysfunctional roster.

But no way you can give 33mpg to Bradley and 0 to Reaves in a must-win game, just no way. It could make sense if we were tanking, but AD and LeBron played heavy minutes coming off of injuries so no sense at all

LAL's nearest competitors, the Pels and CLippers, didn't have injury issues???

I agree with Vogel that when this team is healthy, there is no room for THT in the playoff rotation and this was treated like a playoff rotation. Biggest waste of $10m in the league based on the fact that with Russ on this team (also when considering Lowry and AC), THT had to become a 3 & D player if he was going to have a role on a playoff version of this roster and that's not his game at all. No clue what the front office was thinking.

Where I strongly disagree is that if we're treating this like a playoff game, AR needs to be in it and the old safety blanket known as Bradley needs to go in the dumpster. CJ destroyed him in the 1st Q. AR needed PT and Stan needed another 10 minutes or so, as well.

I'm not mad at Vogel though, he's doing us a favor by helping put an end to this nightmare as soon as possible. f*** it, let's give Bradley 48 minutes Sunday. Let's throw Baze and Ariza out there too, 25-30 minutes for each of them.

He's doing us a favor by coaching himself out of a job.

My ideal replacement as head coach moving forward would be Nick Nurse of the Raptors.

He’s demonstrated he’s an incredible coach with what he has done with the raptors squad, he won a championship there… and within 2 seasons of losing Kawhi and Lowry, he’s done a great job developing young talent
(Van Vleet, Barnes, Trent Jr). The Raptors are basically one superstar away from contending again.

Anyone know what’s Nurse’s contract situation with Toronto?

I think he has 2 years left on his extension. He makes $8m a year. We're way too cheap to pay a coach that. More importantly, why would he leave that situation and Masai Ujiri for ours and the Rambii?

they did. and they're also bad. they also have more non-min rotation players than we do, which gave their coaches options. which of our bench players is going to score 43 points for us whilst making 10 threes and playing good defense? that's the clippers' 4th or 5th wing, almost all of whom make north of 12 million per.

we need to get ujiri more than nurse, but that requires the owners giving up control of basketball operations, which ain't happening. nobody's taking our gm/prez job if they're smart, imo.

That game from Covington was an anomaly. Truth is that Lue, that I don't like, coached this team very well without their 2 stars for way more time than us. And yes, our poor roster construction is one of the causes

I like Frank, but I honestly don't see how he stays.
Hasn't shown the ability to establish any type of Team Identity or Offense in 3 Seasons.
He was able to get the Team that he had to play at a high Defensive level his first Year... but has not been able to sustain any type of success.

He was fortunate enough to have a healthy Lebron and AD for a full season in his first season. I don't know if he will ever get that chance again.

How can you create an identity when you have 3 completely new rosters in 3 years? And did you forget we had a top defense last year without AD? It's part of the reason the inexperienced front office showed their ineptitude this past off season when they thought they could just throw anything out there and Frank could make it work.

But JSM...that top rated defense was only good enough to finish in the play in game. You can't defend your way to a Championship. Lebron and AD delivered on OFFENSE down the stretch in the playoffs, that's why we won the chip. The highly ranked defense was a plus, not the deciding factor. The man has been here for 3 seasons and still can't figure out how to draw up a play to win a game, besides give it Lebron and get out of his way.

and he capitalized. no coach was winning with what we had. it's weird how hard you defend westbrook while trying to pin things on vogel, who has a much smaller chance to impact outcomes.

it's a HUGE problem. again, everyone is mad at frank about offense. look at the clippers' offensive performance this year and circle back re: super genius.

the clippers are a top-tier defense this year. why? because they spent on guys who can and will defend, and they had moveable contracts to bring in wave after wave of them in the face of injuries. and again, they're still a sub .500 team.

switch vogel and lue, and you're looking at the same results in both places.

Lue would have won that chip, Williams and Kidd too. Multiple coaches could have got us there that year IMO. James and Davis were just that dominant. I give him credit, he didn't screw it up. I most definitely don't believe that he was some kind of deciding factor either. Frank's coaching decisions have cost us more games than Westbrook this season. Russ doesn't make rotation decisions, he doesn't draw up the plays either. Again Russ hasn't been elite, but he gets the same measure of slack from me as Frank, in that James and Davis being hurt is a big blow to their performance. Yet Frank could have done a lot more with what he had this AND last season.

yes, probably. big deal? the burden of proof is on those saying vogel sucks. saying that other coaches would also win doesn't do that. other coaches would also lose with this team.

there are no rotation decisions to be made. we have zero credible nba centers on the roster. we had a bunch of small slow guards. where's the lever? what was the thing to do?

what play do you draw up when the other team doesn't guard westbrook? you got a bunch of 4 on 5 diagrams ready to go? think lue does? hell no. lue almost got beat by luka when he had his entire squad healthy, and his brilliant tactic was "hand the ball to kawhi and get out of the way".

don't even get me started on last season, when we got the ideal backup pg and he was forced to start him, making it impossible to use our ideal backup center in the appropriate way. and no, that wasn't vogel's call, and we all know it.
